No idea, but randomly, out of my family of 7, all of whom grew up just outside Philadelphia, I say warsh and Warshington, but no one else does. I have no idea how the hell that happened.Well, now I know. But do they Wash or Warsh their clothes? I've always considered Wisconsin/Illinois border to be the cut off line.
Just in straight from the mouth of Willie from Flo himself!
This isn't a rumor but 100 percent fact!
According to Willie....
Billy likes to drink SODA!
And, brace for this one....
Miss Lippy's car is GREEN!
Yea, I know that. That's why I'm comparing him to the janitor from Billy Madison.Sandor45, this may come as a surprise to you, but most on this board and most that wear Hawkeye colors don't give 2 F_ _ _ S what Willie is saying.

So are the fans ok with a combo that includes Happel, Rathburn and Moore but none of the other 3? How about Happel, Rathburn and Suriano but none of the other 3?Hall, Lee, Suriano, Happel, Moore and Rathbun are guys that I am excited to see where they land. I will add to the fact that I will be Extremely suprised if we don't get 3 of these guys. Also there are 2 stud sophomores(soon to be juniors) that they are going after really hard but that's for another day....
I'd be OK with it, mostly because we have no say in the matter, and there are a TON of factors that go into signing everyone you'd really like to sign. Those 2 groups you mentioned are all fine young wrestlers. One thing I never want to see, is Iowa passing on in-state comparable talent. Bring'em in and Coach'em up.So are the fans ok with a combo that includes Happel, Rathburn and Moore but none of the other 3? How about Happel, Rathburn and Suriano but none of the other 3?
FWIW, I don't see either of the above combos I mentioned happening.
It would basically allow boosters to dictate who the top teams are. Some teams would be able to offer a full ride to every single kid they really wanted while most others would still be limited to the 9.9 every year. It's really too bad the ncaa doesn't allow outside funding to be used towards scholarship funding. I'm sure we could easily round up 1,000 hawk wrestling fans to pitch in $100/year and provide another 4 scholarships. Not sure why this isn't allowed if the extra funds only go directly to scholarships, but too bad it isn't.
If that were the case, I'd have to dump the Hawks and jump on the Bill Gates University bandwagon.............................. They'd have some hellish battles with Warren Buffet State I suspect. It's really too bad the ncaa doesn't allow outside funding to be used towards scholarship funding. Please... why don't you two clowns get a room at the local Motel 6, and leave the intelligent discussion to the big boys? Or better yet... try and contribute something related to the original topic! No idea, but randomly, out of my family of 7, all of whom grew up just outside Philadelphia, I say warsh and Warshington, but no one else does. The different idioms and such by region is pretty interesting. PBS had some great shows awhile back about it.
So this long thread goes off on about 6 tangents and this is your insightful first post on it?Please... why don't you two clowns get a room at the local Motel 6, and leave the intelligent discussion to the big boys? Or better yet... try and contribute something related to the original topic!
I guess if you don't care for what I post, there's always another option for you... go back to the Ped State site and rub McAndrew's back and tell him how much you appreciate all the crap he plagiarizes. So this long thread goes off on about 6 tangents and this is your insightful first post on it?
Then again, your schtick on here is to be an angry dick, so why change now.
One more reason not to pay for that site!Flos top 100 list does not have Iowa listed among the top 5 for Suriano, Happel and Yates. 3 individuals that are regularly discussed as having interest in Iowa. Willie has stated he gets this info directly from the recruits.
Iowa is listed for Hall though.
Well, there's either some secret commitments going on, or we are all going to be highly disappointed when the verbals start coming in.
Why not.
Suriano and Happel both have Iowa listed.Flos top 100 list does not have Iowa listed among the top 5 for Suriano, Happel and Yates. 3 individuals that are regularly discussed as having interest in Iowa. Willie has stated he gets this info directly from the recruits.

Surianos was for sure updated cuz he originally only had three schools listed, Iowa not being one. Now has six listed, Iowa being one. Happel perhaps I missed Iowa when I originally looked or it was also updated.Suriano and Happel both have Iowa listed.
I think they've been in the process of updating and things may appear incorrect for short periods of time. I will say that these lists are only a snapshot and several of these guys may commit to schools not on their lists. Michael Kemerer didn't list Iowa last year and he was a top 10 recruit that ended up committing to the hawks. If one of the big time schools starts going hard at a guy late, many of them will certainly listen. Take the lists for what they are worth, a nice discussion topicSurianos was for sure updated cuz he originally only had three schools listed, Iowa not being one. Now has six listed, Iowa being one. I don't think that is true. As far as the waiting on Hall thing that is. There have been other highly sought after recruits before Hall and the other dozens of kids in the class didn't wait until the 1 guy announced... especially when the 1 guy has made it clear he won't be committing any time soon.Agreed. Didn't mean to imply that these lists are binding in any way. Totally a snapshot in time. Unsure of how much consistent editing goes into the lists once they are created. As a fan I would much rather have my team listed than not listed though. It will be interesting to see how Halls decision will shift the recruiting landscape. I presume the recruiting trail will remain fairly stagnant(compared to previous years) until Hall commits.
