This is the final midweek game of the season for Iowa. It will be in Iowa City vs Nebraska Omaha. It looks like after having Calvin Mathews start the majority of the year during midweek games that Coach Dahm has opted to go with Josh Martsching as he is listed as the probable. This will be Martsching's second start this year as he is 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA in 26 innings.

UNO will start Marcus Ethen who is 0-1 with a 6.16 ERA, he only has eight appearances and one start all season.

Iowa and UNO have split a total of four games this year. The game starts at 6;05pm.

Iowa will then have their final home series of the year vs Michigan State. Get out and support Iowa, I know the results aren't where the fans want them but the support is still nice.

Iowa loses to UNO 6-5. UNO jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first four innings. Iowa cut it to 6-5 but could not get over the hump. I would've liked to see Calvin Mathews get some action as he's been throwing well most midweek games minus the UW-Milwaukee game. I don't think Martsching has what it takes as a starter yet in his career, granted he has only started two games if you count this one. His longest outing was three innings.

Shocker!

Can't wait for barta to lock up Dahm another 5 yrs.

That's a really good ball club. DJ Peterson is a monster. Back to Iowa, one run losses have been an Achilles heel for awhile now. It shows they are able to compete but they can't finish the job. It seems like they carry a jinx as they haven't been able to get over the hump in a few years.
