Iowa now favored by 6

Yes the smart money grabbed Iowa early leaving the rest of us schlubs with having to give up nearly a TD on the road.

If it were further into the season so that the Minnesota cold could figure into things more ... then I'd assume that the Gophs would enjoy more of a legit home field advantage. However, right now ... I don't see the venue having much impact. I'd still prabably take Iowa until the line gets to around 8.

Minnesota has a good defense. Better than Wisconsin's except that I am not sure how they will do without Winfield on the back end. However, their offense is one of the worst in the country.

I read on the Minny board that 90% of the $$$ is on Iowa. Guess the fact that the Gophers suck isn't a surprise to many folks.

I haven't watched the Gophers in the last 2 (3 with the bye) weeks, but the first two weeks their OL and DL were both getting manhandled. Their OL especially consistently was pushed 1-2 yards back, and their DL was continually gutted up the middle.

Not sure if that's been corrected but if not, oh boy.

Yes still not sure what to make of Gophers. They've played 1 Power 5 team this year and got housed by Maryland. New Mexico State and Miami-Ohio are among the worst teams in all of college football. Fresno State is 32 in Sagarin and Gophers got a good win. I just don't see how Gophers get over 10 points on Iowa's defense, but I've been wrong lots before. Even at Iowa -6 that seems money to be made on the Hawks.

I've heard a lot of critical comments about the Gopher OL ... and yet PFF still has rated them as the #4 OL in the B1G so far (at least going off of how they're grading them out). I know that a lot of folks are critical of how PFF scores OL play ... but still, they must be seeing some solid play there. Furthermore, they're in a non-ideal QB situation (playing a TR FR QB) ... so the OL must be doing some good things in giving him time to throw the football. With young players, when they get sacked, it's often more on the QB than it is on the OL. Also, through 4 games, they've given up 8 sacks ... not a great number, but not necessarily a terrible number either (particularly having a young guy at QB).

I've walked out of the Dome with my head down more than once, I never count wins before the game is played up nordth.
It was crazy close last year.

Can you even imagine Fleck’s show with that pig? He’d take Floyd home and watch his wife bang him.

I’m a Minnesota fan and I think Iowa is a lock fwiw. Our lines suck right now. CFB is weird though. Kids and adrenaline are predictably unpredictable. Analysis of Minnesota here has been fair. WR group looks pretty dangerous. The QB could be pretty decent down the road. That’s about it right now. The LBs could be a wildcard. Losing Smith at RB and Winfield can’t be ignored.

That could be and they may have just taken a few games to improve. Just from the eye test in games I've watched though I've seen their OL get pushed around by both NM St. and Fresno St. It may not have led to sacks, but there was certainly more than a handful of times where the QB didn't have a clean pocket or all kinds of time. And that is against defenses that are quite a bit lower scale compared to Iowa.

That said, I have been impressed by their QB for a true frosh. I think we can force him into some mistakes, but he could surprise us.

Okay, someone explain how this works. Let's say you put $100 on the game at the original line versus now. How do various game game results impact what you win.

We only managed to score 13 points vs ISU and 17 vs Wisconsin at home yet the whole board thinks we're going to cover 7 points on the road?

you aren't going to try and compare Minnesota to Iowa State and Wisconsin right now are you?

I'm stating I have doubts the offense can score enough points to cover 7 on the road against a P5 opponent. I see a 20-16 type game; would love for Stanley to prove me wrong though.

I see Minnesota winning this game...we're in Oct. and Iowa still has yet to play a road game. Minnesota with the upset special...
