The under paid out by over a touchdown on both those games btw in case anyone forgot the scores.

I really want to see them win one of these last 5 games with a score of 3-2. Less than 200 yards offense between the 2 teams. It would be gloriously infamous. If they're going to be the worst power 5 offense of modern football they need a statement game to cement that legacy.

Yeah. I would love to see this team finish 11-1 and have a game like you’re describing.

We would be like the inverse of the ‘85 bears….the unquestioned worst offense in modern football history….and still finish 11-1

Do teams play to win or score points? I don't gamble so could give two shits about the over/under. As long as the Hawks keep winning, that is all that counts.

I thought we played to compete for and to win championships.

As long as the Hawks keep winning? Well, we lost 3 games last year that we clearly should have won and we all know why we lost (7-10 vs Clown U; 6-9 vs Illinois; 17-24 vs Little Debbie).

We can USUALLY beat the average/below average teams with the current strategy but I just listed the 3 exceptions from last year.

The goal is to compete for and ACTUALLY WIN championships. And to win the B1G Championship, we will be playing one of the Big 3 of the B1G, and with this offense, I don't think we have a chance.

Recent results vs the Big 3 of the B1G:

42-3 L: vs Michigan, 2021 B1G Championship game
54-10 L: vs Ohio State last season
31-0 L: vs Penn State this season

I think Michigan comes out of the B1G East this year. That should be fun.

@oldxbbc , @Fan In Black we just keep making history.

As I posted on Monday, Iowa is part of the 3 lowest Over/Unders in College Football History.

31.5 (Minny last year)
32 (Kentucky last year)
32.5 (Minny this year).....which is now 31.5

Iowa Hawkeyes Set Hilarious College Football Record For Third Time In A Row

Just how bad has the Iowa Hawkeyes offense been in recent years under offensive coordination Brian Ferentz?

Well, the Hawkeyes just tied the record for lowest over/under total in college football in past 20 years.

The over/under Iowa’s game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers is set at just 31.5.

And before you go and say, “but that has as much to do with the Golden Gophers as it does the Hawkeyes,” note that the mark only ties the record.

That’s because in 2022, Iowa’s matchups with Kentucky and Minnesota (again) both had an over-under of 31.5 as well.

And for all you sports betting folks out there, note that Iowa won both of those games, with the under somehow hitting in both.

The Hawkeyes topped the Golden Gophers, 13-10, and the Wildcats, 21-0.

That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement for Ferentz, who is an on an amended “prove it” contract that requires Iowa to score 25 points per game to return to his previous pay.

“For Ferentz to return to his previous two-year rolling contract, the Hawkeyes must reach a mere 25 points per game — by any means, including defense and special teams — in 2023,” Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports reported. Additionally, the Hawkeyes must reach seven wins, which includes a potential bowl game. Ferentz accepted a $50,000 salary decrease to $850,000 for the season. If Ferentz fails to meet either of the two incentives, his contract will officially terminate on June 30, 2024.”

The Hawkeyes are averaging just 20.8 points per game through seven games. That includes a 44-point performance in a win over Western Michigan. It also includes a defensive touchdown scored against rival Iowa State.

Things aren’t looking too hot for our old buddy Brian.

Despite that, the Hawks are 6-1 and favored in each of their remaining five regular season contests. If that’s not classic Iowa Hawkeyes, I don’t know what is.

part of the equation is Phil Parker, too, right? His defense doesn't give up many points....and our offense of course doesn't score many....
That's exactly it. You have one of the best defenses in the country year after year paired with one of the worst offenses in the country year after year. Everyone shits on the offense first, but half of that stat is a great tribute to amazing defense.

how much did you bet?

what do you win if you win the bet?
I'm not exactly a wild man in the gambling department and do it for fun. I put $20 on the under. The online apps/casinos will vary the amount you win or have to bet as part of the wager. For instance, the under of 30.5 will USUALLY come with a -110 (meaning you have to bet $110 to win $100) or a +110 (meaning you win $110 when you bet $100). They are all based on a bet of $100. To sway things further, they can move the "payment odds". For instance they can move them to +100 or -115, etc.
I got -110 so I would get $38 (the original 20 plus the 18 won).

$20 here and there can add up if you're not careful.

i think you win this bet

The O/U was 32.5 on Monday. It is 30.5 now. 30.5 or lower would be the lowest total in college football history.

Iowa is currently a 3.5 pt favorite.

17-14 type game?
