I bet teachers see barely any of it. Before those schools could underpay teachers (and they absolutely did) because they didn't get public funding and those teachers get paid in satisfaction of the mission blah blah blah. Now what will the excuse be and where will that money be goingI wonder where that private school tuition increase is going? It’s almost like taxpayers are subsidizing those churches who sponsor those schools. Almost like they are profiting from public dollars to support their religious mission.
It’s almost like people predicted this would happen.
How much do the execs at the private schools make nowadays? How do you feel about school district supers making 2-300K each?
Be honest: which Sup's make that? DM/CR? Should be easy to show a list. How do you feel about school district supers making 2-300K each? That isn't even getting into all the administration support staff
I just googled one district. The superintendent of Des Moines public schools makes just over 300k. 306 to be exact. Des Moines public schools have just over 5000 employees. How many corporations of that size have a ceo that makes less than that. I genuinely don’t know. It seems to be a reasonable salary though. How do you feel about school district supers making 2-300K each? That isn't even getting into all the administration support staff
About 60% of that with no ipers. How much do the execs at the private schools make nowadays?
Where did you find detailed information about privately employed persons? And, if true, which ones have similar duties and responsibilities to public employees? Private schools don't have superintendents, they have fewer students and employees, and much smaller budgets to oversee.About 60% of that with no ipers.
Republicans aren't going to fully fund the education of special needs kids. Their responsibility towards special needs kids ends when they are born.
Link?About 60% of that with no ipers.

Bullshit.About 60% of that with no ipers.
That they are underpaid. Leading those organizations when they are being severely underfunded, attacked by extremists and undermined by the government is terribly challenging. Those that are leading large districts and making that type of $$ could easily move on to other jobs with similar or higher pay.How do you feel about school district supers making 2-300K each? Just so there's real data in this conversation, the average superintendent as reported in 22/23 by the Iowa Dept of Ed is at $170K/year across all districts.

Only the largest school districts have Superintendent pay in that range and it is a sucky job that not many people want to do. Every decision you make pisses somebody off so after 5-7 years you've pissed off enough people to get a school board voted in that will get you fired, or at least not renew the contract. Even if every decision is a good one and the school is financially stable. How do you feel about school district supers making 2-300K each? Why would anyone want to fully fund the education of any kid
Patiently waiting for Hexum and Dog to show their work..
Exactly the job is not worth the pay. I always say anyone with a third grade education think they are an expert on education and sadly people with just a third grade education are the ones that stir the pot.Only the largest school districts have Superintendent pay in that range and it is a sucky job that not many people want to do. So, based on the free market, 2-300k for the largest school districts sounds about right. It certainly is a crap ton cheaper than the cost of a CEO at a private company with similar sized budgets.
I'm not going to go check, but the poster did say average and not median. So, half of them make less than this.

That's not how it works in education where 2% increases are a good year.If they are increasing 7-10% that’s actually pretty low compared to the cost of everything else.
Public school got a 3% increase. LolIf they are increasing 7-10% that’s actually pretty low compared to the cost of everything else.
