Iowa St. only makes the Playoffs because the Big 12 has been gutted of virtually all its elite teams

"big" 12 titles.

Oklahoma - 14
Texas - 4
Kansas St - 3
Baylor - 3
Nebraska - 2
Oklahoma State - 1
Texas A&M - 1
Colorado - 1
TCU - 1

Nah. By comparison this would be Iowa's best performance in a conference championship game in a decade.

BTW, those PAC10 fans have to be puffing out their chests right now. Taking those Big 12 and Big 10 championships in their first years in each league if Oregon wins tonight. Best conference transfer outcomes ever.

If that affects your allegiance... you're not much of an Iowa fan.

I don't know man, they are in a league they can legitimately compete on a consistent basis. I don't know we can say that about Iowa. In the long run they may suffer if the perception of the conference results in diminishing interest and lower revenue. It is just hard for me to see Iowa being able to compete for Big 10 championships with arguably 5 blue chip programs. Not all of them are great at once but generally a few of them will be exceptional.
No offense but it's a short-sighted viewpoint. It's not IF perception and lower revenue will happen as that's already guaranteed with the media deals in place. Iowa will be making 4 times what ISU does in a year alone in two years. If we think the B12 is bad now, what will it look like in 2-3 years? How much will our players be making per year as opposed to a B12 school? It'll take one hell of a booster/donor for those teams to even compete with our media deal (not including NIL) at our level. The B12 won't exist in a decade. They're all only auditioning for a spot in the Big 2.

So yes, right now their path is easier. Would I trade spots with them...absolutely not.

Will Iowa be able to win a title in the B1G, whelp, that's unlikely but at least we'll have a team still in the highest level of college football.

Yep. They will have a much easier path every year. Who would you rather have to beat?

Arizona St
Kansas St
Colorado (we'll see what happens post Deion)
BYU

or

Oregon
Ohio State
Penn St
Michigan
People are blind by hate if they don’t see this. Iowa will never make playoff in current format. Never.

Easy now. We were beaten by the midget that's getting their ass kicked right now.
When did anyone on here say Iowa has any business playing for a championship this year?

We don’t……just like the Clowns as proven by getting ROLLED by the #15 team 🤣🤡

True but that'll be the case for pretty much 80-85% of the programs in the country once it's only the B1G and SEC in the playoffs, which will happen soon.

We're closer than a lot of those other programs in getting in on occasion but yeah, it won't be consistent by any means. It'll be a tough road for anyone in all honesty.

Iowa only has to finish ahead of one of those teams to have a shot in B1G. They will regularly get 4 teams in.

ISU has to win the conference. Something they haven’t done in 112 years.

Yeah, that’s what I figured.
