Iowa State's road to the Final 4 is Clear Sailing; Purdue will CHOKE, guaranteed

All depends on if ISU can hit the threes on a regular basis like they have been. I think Purdues guards are decent enough to slow ISU guards down but I doubt ISU can hang with Biggie and Haas. If purdue is smart they will slow the game waaay down and make ISU Earn each basket Not let them run like they did last night. Work it down to Biggie and they have a chance to beat ISU.

Agree that 'clones have the edge over pu.
They were tested at times by nevada, though, so it's not as if that was a blowout from the opening tip.
ISU has the edge on the perimeter. And while I think swanigan will get his, and even haas will do damage, it won't be enough to overcome 'clones superior guard play.

That would be about all of them, not just to name a few. He's certainly a top 4-5 PG in the country.
I don't see how ISU beats Purdue. There's too much size and the guards for Purdue are okay. ISU will definitely be out-rebounded and out-sized so they'll need to win pretty much every other battle to pull off that W.

if only Iowa had a player of the character of Monte Morris.

sigh.

When I watch Purdue compared to ISU, Purdue looks like they are wearing cement shoes.

Yeah, pu will have a hard time with ISU. Swanigan is very slow footed and Hass might be the slowest footed player in the world and neither one can jump.

PU will need to dominate the glass on both sides to make it a game, which they can do.

This. The key for Purdue will be to get as many shots in the paint as possible. This should keep ISU from getting out on the break.

Painter should just feed Biggie and Haas all game and let the chips fall where they might. If Purdue just jacks a bunch of 3s they will get run out of the gym.

I have Purdue winning based on size. Who is going to be able to match up with Swanigan and Haas for ISU? Also to the original post I don't see ISU being good after this year. They are losing all of Hoiberg's recruits and will be extremely inexperienced next year...
ISU has heard the same thing after White..... Ejim.....Kane.... Niang. If Iowa can do well with freshman, certainly ISU can. ISU's freshman next year are more highly regarded than Iowa's this year, and there are good returning players.

NCAA tournament is a guard game. ISU has a huge advantage in the guard court.

ISU will have to guard Purdue, on the perimeter. If they don't Pudue can and will hit their 3's. Defense is going to determine who wins this game.

I am calling it now.

Congrats to the Clowns on their victory over Purdue.

Monte Morris was right. IS-who is better than Iowa. We all know it.

Next year will make or break with transfer season, I believe ISU has 3 schollys left and transfers are the reason they haven't had to take a step back in the past when they graduate good players.

Reverse jinx, bro ;)
I recall the other thread (yikes who doesn't?) I just meant to say I thought the Clones were actually playing so well they had as good a shot as anybody. I honestly thought they would beat Purdue IF the refs did not allow the mugging, er, contact that Purdue relies upon to be successful.

Still, I hate to ruin your thread, so...looks like the Clones are primed for a huge 2nd half!

Clowns will coast in the 2nd half and then be just 4 easy victories from the National Championship!

You think their future looks good now? Just wait until after they show recruits that National championship trophy.

Its a Cyclown state, as Niang once said! Its soon to be a Cyclown nation as well.

Well it worked. Gave up a HUGE lead but manage to hang on. Iowa knows what its like to be up 19 on the clones and lose it. except we actually lost it.

Am I the only one that is so tired of seeing ISU play like 10 minutes of good basketball and sneak out a win...

Well not tonight!!!!!!'
Yep, it will be nice to see the clowns down for the foreseeable future!

You have to feel good about Iowa State now and for their future.

Tonight will be an easy win vs a 12 seed.

Purdue always chokes, so ISU will easily defeat their opponent on Saturday.

ISU beats Kansas in the Sweet 16.

After that, its an easy win to advance to the Final 4, where I probably will predict them to win the National Championship.

Just remember. You heard it here first.

Well this was just a fail of a thread and prediction.

this game reminded me when iowa was up 18 in the 2nd half vs UNLV in 87

You might want to edit about 20 of your posts in this thread or just own up that you were wrong. I'm not buying that this was your plan, unless you believe that posting reverse psychology on a message board affects the outcome of a game.
