Recruits care and that's enough for me to care as well. The higher Iowa is ranked the more free publicity they will get which helps dramatically with recruiting.

Gonzaga plays #2 Baylor this week. If they win there is no way Iowa would be #1 even if they stomp UNC, and thats fine at this point...

I Don’t get too excited about the rankings this early, but it’s been so dang long since Iowa was a contender this early it feels like we should care. The Hawks will stumble and may fall, but they will be there at the end when it counts.

Right but if 21 of the top 25 teams haven’t shown it then aren’t most of them in the same boat? Someone has to be ranked.. I’m all for Richmond takings Kentucky’s stop and what not but just because we haven’t played anyone doesn’t mean we aren’t worthy of our ranking. I my opinion of course.
