Iowa WBB 2025 Recruiting Thread

LSU may be the womens version of 80's unlv? They seem to have a large salary cap. Over the next couple of years its going to be interesting to see if the best teams money can buy always win, or if other approaches work better. The best paid teams will have unforgiving fan bases, tension between people fighting to get paid which could lead to team tension, and I would expect higher churn. On the other hand, low budget teams seem like they wont be able to compete? I think we dont get back to stability until the payers for some sort of collective to ensure that the money is spread wider, and there is some parity. If the teams that pay the most always win all of the momentum currently flowing into the sport dies out.

Huesmann posted about a 2025 5 star wing visiting this weekend. Anyone know who it might be? I took it as someone new & not a name we've heard previously. Holland Harris?

Hope the weather is nice. I also hope she makes a decision soon.

Hawks must be out on McGaughy. Never visited that I'm aware of. Tennessee might be the favorite but that's pure speculation on my part.
McGaughy did say that she'd visit Iowa this fall; and she has spoken very highly of the program and the coaches. So I hope we're still toward the top of the mix for Brynn, I think she'd be a huge land for the program. Good size, an impressive range of skills, good leader, great person. Problem is, as with all of these top players, they have a cornucopia of offers from the best programs in the country. So maybe the better perspective is that the game/players have grown so much that even if Bluder misses on a big-time target, there are a lot of potentially great players still out there. But the 2025 class is the one that that will determine where Iowa stands on the national stage.

It's possible Brynn was sick, something came up, whatever. Maybe Bluder didn't want to split too much of her time for a kid like Brynn who really deserves your full attention. Idk that we're out of the running.

BTW I saw on the LSU forum that Deal also visited Alabama in October. Maybe she wants to be in the SEC. LSU fans positive she will pick them, but are aware Iowa is biggest competition.

Hoping you are correct and my assumptions are way off regarding McGaughy!

When did Stremlow drop to 91? She’s about to fall out of the top 100 if she keeps trending that way.

On the bright side…when you consider that we have a 2025 recruit who is ranked higher
than any of these 4 — and that when you combine the 5 players, we have a complete lineup…we’re in a decent place!
