Iowa WBB Class of 2026 Recruiting Thread

It looks like she made it here for the WSU game on 11/24/24. You can find a reference below. Couldn't find a news article, twitterX or IG post to it. Scott says it was her 3rd visit. I don't have that 2nd visit Raina is talking about. That's even better that she's showing more interest than I thought also.

Sorry for the confusion. Natalie said she had visited Iowa twice when Kyle interviewed her in late August and she said she was hoping to visit again in the fall. So the WSU visit would have been her 3rd visit. Threw in the Raina comment because the school posted pics of her at their open gym and I did a poor job of fitting it into context.

Any of these players would be awesome Hawkeyes. You just hope one of them sees the opportunity and it carries in another.

I think just getting them to Iowa City goes a long way to selling the idea to these players from around the country. Until they see it, and get a vibe for the students and feel, "Iowa" is such an abstract idea. Kudos to the program, CC, and fan enthusiasm for developing this reputation and making it a legit curiosity for their future college experience.

I wonder if McKenna and Kate's fathers have connected? They're both basketball men and both seemed to have enjoyed their time in IC.

I went back and revised my last post with the Kussow visits. Here's a quick updated post on Iowa's targets in this class. I'll use ESPN's ranking. If I'm wrong about something please correct me and I'll edit this.

For fun I'll add a % chance of ending up at Iowa. I'm going to be conservative with it, though, because in most cases it still feels very early in the player's recruitment.

Harpring (2): Visited recently. No Top X list. All the big schools want her. No clear favorite from what I can see. 10%

Vukosa (4): Iowa in her Top 16. Hasn't visited. Probably not realistic until she does. 1%

Woliczko (6): Iowa in her Top 10. She visited unofficially and her family seemed to enjoy it. No clear favorite. 15%

Jones (8): has visited. No Top X list. Never got the sense Iowa had a great chance. 5%

Crittendon (10): Iowa offered but I don't think she's visited yet. No Top X list. 2%

Bjorn (11): Has visited several times. Iowa in her Top 15. Taking officials to Texas and UConn soon. Texas was seen as a frontrunner at one point (and maybe still). 22%

Lewis (15): Has visited many times. No Top X list. Has visited plenty of other schools too, but none standout as clear favorites. I'm not willing to go as far as David did, but she seems like the most likely player in this class to commit to Iowa so far. 40%

Kussow (16): Has visited 2 or 3 times. No Top X list. Keeps her recruiting pretty quiet. The multiple visits now and what she's said she's looking for makes me think Iowa has a real shot. 33%

Koupal (21): Has visited once. No Top X list. I still don't see many signs of mutual interest yet beyond the one visit. Part of that could be Iowa likes Bjorn and Woliczko better at the 4 and already has Heiden and Hays at the 5. 5%

Krstevski (26): Visited once. No Top X list. Not sure Iowa takes another 5-only player in this class with Heiden and Hays in the two classes before. 5%

Ragone (28): Visited once. No Top X list. Most of her other visits are closer to home. 5%

Greenway (18) and Oehrlein (43): committed to Kentucky and Minnesota respectively.

Ragone commented on Harpring’s Instagram post that she looks good in black & yellow.. Callie Levin said they look good on her too…

Deal and Ragone liked that response while Raina liked another response about Ragone in Iowa colors.

Jan and Raina both liked Instagram posts from Ragone in December. She hasn’t posted any more since those December posts.

I could see putting Ragone at 10% now and potentially higher if she releases a Top X list.

Part of the reason I did this was to look back in 6-12 months and see how right or wrong some of my assumptions turn out to be.

Especially the WBB players/students.
