The Big Ten schedule makers were good to Iowa. We
now have a home game against Illinois this Saturday.
The Fighting Illini rank 14th in the Big Ten in total offense.
They also rank 14th in the Big Ten in total defense.

Our next game will be an opportunity to play the worst
team in the Big Ten at Kinnick Stadium. This game will
help to heal whatever ails the Hawkeyes. May you be
thankful for Illinois as you prepare your heart and mind
for our game against Illinois

Good post Lute. Lets get Lovie...regroup in bye week...Then get the Cats. Lets get offense worked out. Defense good enough to win.

We'll mend some wounds by blowing out Illinois heading into the bye week, go out on the road inspired and beat NW, come home and beat Minnesota, and then everybody will be all optimistic heading into the Ohio State game.

We'll lose and the sky will fall once again and Kirk should be fired and what a disgrace this program has been for the last decade and I wonder if we should go after Saban.

If we barely win or lose people will say we still suck if we win big people will say dammit why didn’t you do that last week.

Lol...have you seen Illinois?

Did you see Iowa's prevent O and D yesterday?

Iowa allowed a QB to pick apart it's zone w/ no pressure which allowed him to get comfortable and gain confidence. Iowa's O, kept trying to do the same thing they have done w/ very little success last week - run the ball into 8 and 9 man fronts.

Add in the unforced turnovers and you've got a recipe for a ball game that shouldn't be one. Iowa will barely escape if it plays the same as yesterday which it will when Old Kirk shows up to the presser and talks "magic" and "execution". At least I get a good laugh out of old Kirk compared to new Kirk.

illanoy is just terrible. That doesn't mean Iowa will blow them out. They've played plenty of bad teams close during the KF era.
Hawks should win. Style points and seeing back ups get PT would make it fun. I'm not counting on that happening.

The "Lovie Smith" era at Illinois could be over sooner
than you think. He has done nothing to inspire hope
for the players or fans. Lovie probably regrets his
decision to coach at Illinois, but the money was good.

The defense played fine. They gave up 300 yards while MSU had the ball over 33:00.

Yes I did and Illinois would lose to MSU by around 31-7. They have some offensive problems for sure, but its Illinois is next level bad. Think they would hang with PSU? Really?

Illinois is bad but Iowa isn't much better based upon what I saw yesterday. Iowa plays up and down to the level of competition and I don't expect it to change Saturday. Illinois D has a game plan on how to stop Iowa's run game and force Iowa to beat them through the air.

Get back with me after the game on Saturday. I think Iowa will win a tight ballgame but wouldn't be surprised to see Illinois running QB cause Iowa's D fits sad to say and pull off the upset. Iowa hasn't played very well against any team this season in a complete game.

We will also beat Minnesota, Northwestern,
Nebraska and Purdue besides Illinois

Our conference record will be 5-4 and our season
record will be 8-4. So we will go bowling.

Not if our O-line doesn't play better. WR's need to catch the ball and hold onto it when they catch it, we need a pass rush.

I would not underestimate Illinois, they are getting better.

Poor Illinois. Everyone wanted to schedule them for their homecoming, but Iowa and Minneapolis got it done.

I was gonna say the same thing. He just has a look on his face that says he is not happy.

Take the money and run................
