Well, I looked at the video of the TD on the sideline, we were in cover 2 and Snyder was definitely on Mabin's side of the field with Taylor on King's side. No doubt about it. I think safeties vary on side depending on the offensive formation. We don't know what the strong side of the field is until the offense comes up to the LOS.

Can we blitz at least once a game, please? If nothing else but to make the other team think about it. Sometimes this staff is so stubborn it is ridiculous. Not asking for us to do it every play....just once in awhile to keep them honest.

We blitzed a couple of times. They hit us for a 1st down pass on one of those blitzes.

Shouldn't you be proficient operating out of your base set utilizing your base schemes ... especially considering that that is the D you'll operate most frequently out of?

When you combine the above consideration with the fact that Iowa had A LOT of newness on the D with Hesse and Jewell out ... isn't it better to make sure that they have a ton of tape and a lot of live reps to learn from?

If the game were truly in danger of slipping away from the Hawks ... then sure, blitz more. However, why do so unless you have to?

Lastly, if you DON'T need to do so ... why show future opponents your hand? That just allows them to scheme better based on personnel ... that's exactly what you want to AVOID!

One area that was concerning before the games was kicking but so far so good. Duncan didn't have to kick a long one but still did a good job.
