Is anyone really going to Pinstripe Bowl?

I haven't heard from anyone that they are going to or even considering that they are going to the bowl game. Will Iowa even have 5,000 fans ... it just seems as if Boston College will have a decidedly huge home field ability .


This by all accounts is turning out to be a disaster .

Not this year. The past few bowl games have been brutal. I don’t expect to win every bowl game, but they have not even been competitive. That said I would have gone to the music city bowl. 10 miles from my home. Can they still switch.

No way,,,I'm still paying for the rose bowl .......It would be a neat trip, but cold weather,expensive place to go, close to Christmas makes it a tough sell.

I would have gone to Music City Bowl. Many fans like myself really do not put a lot of emphasis on winning Bowl games although it is a nice bonus when you do but when you spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars in airfare,hotel food and lodging you at least want to enjoy yourself , have some warm weather and be able to do family things and NYC offers none of the above.

Was planning on going to Nashville if we played there. Could have gotten flight, hotel and ticket for right around $500/person. From looking around it seems like it would be 3-4 times that to get to NYC. Way too poor for that.

Face value for tickets is ridiculous for such a lower tier bowl game. They should start around $20, not $50-60

We would have went to any of the other destinations but have no interest to go to New york in the winter.

Haven’t missed a bowl since ‘06 Alamo. Group of 17 of us heading to NYC from the 26th to NYE. Should be very cool. My second NYE in NY. Last one was epic!

Friend of mine told me today he is not going to NY. His group have not missed a Iowa Bowl game since Hayden started coaching at Iowa.

Just hope the kids get a lot of swag and then Congress does not tax them on it or on-going tuition so they have to drop out of school.

Nobody that I know in the CR/IC area (besides the families of the players) is going. There just doesn't seem to be all that much interest in Hawkeye athletics right now.

I believe there will be plenty of Iowa fans there ....I don't think the fact that it's a lower level Bowl game is what's keeping many away.....that's just the whiners way of complaining! I believe the fact is..... number one..... leaving the day after Christmas (tough with family obligations)! Two ......Going to a bowl game most peeps in Iowa would rather pay money to go to a warm location. So I wish people would stop spinning it as all Iowa fans are all spoiled little kids that think they are owed a 10 win season ...not the case!!

I didn't go to the Pinstripe when ISU played in it 5-6 years ago, and I try to get to them. I went to Boise, for crying out loud. The cost and the chance of lousy weather, plus the time of year, nixed Pinstripe for me. And if I'm going to visit NYC, it will be for a week or close to it because of the things I'd want to do/see; not the kind of place to come in for a couple of days, watch a football game and return home.

Despite the loss, the 2006 Alamo bowl was a great time. Just thought I would let you know. I am skipping this year.
