ThisI've been done with Fran since Richmond. I was almost there after Oregon the previous year. It's been a long time since I've actually defended him.

I'm in agreement, it's time for Beth to do her job, Fran only knows the offensive game and has no idea how to teach defense or rebounding, which is the other equation in this sport. Whether I wake up tomorrow and find out he has been relieved of his coaching duty's which is highly unlikely, or he is relieved of them after the season, that is the only way Iowa is going to get beck their fans and start felling the seats in Carver again.I went to almost all the games as a student under Lickliter.
I defended Fran for years. It's just time. I know that's not a great argument. Tonight's game was an embarrassment.
Short of a miracle run to the Sweet Sixteen, Beth needs to fire him. There will be keg stands, ticket sales and celebrations if she does so.
Been going to half a dozen a year up until last year. Can’t even get the ambition to watch them on TV. Done with watching mens basketball until Fran is gone. I check the box score and occasionally follow the game thread.I was going to go to at least 2 games with at least 3+ others not going to bother now.
No that was @curtisj157 who was ready with the fillet knife on his sack I believe?Again?
Did this exact same thing you did. Wasn’t even bothered by the result. The apathy is very real this season.Hawks up four, then Wisconsin went on a 16-0 run to go up 12. why let that happen without a quick time out? I switched it, had seen enough. Checked back with 30 seconds to check the score. Lost by 31 sad.
Have lost interest the last couple of years, poor brand of basketball.
If you watch enough of this game for a long enough period, you see that things like this happen fairly frequently. I think Illinois, e.g., beat Northwestern by 30+ last year and then lost to them a few weeks later. Many such cases over the years. If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn into the carpet I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now.
Iowa is not going to outright fire the winningest coach in its program's history.I'm in agreement, it's time for Beth to do her job, Fran only knows the offensive game and has no idea how to teach defense or rebounding, which is the other equation in this sport. Fran, go find a coaching job that's at a level which fits your abilities, it's just not in the BIG TEN.
Should we hang that one big ten tournament championship banner??Iowa is not going to outright fire the winningest coach in its program's history.
That will never happen. Period. End of story.
I think a settlement will be worked out, and Fran will retire with all the accolades and respect due to him at the end of the year.
And then immediately come out of retirement to coach Butler?Fran will retire with all the accolades and respect due to him at the end of the year
My exact thoughts. I didn't even bother to watch the game. Oh how I miss the 80s and 90s teams. Was there a game tonight? Iowa BBall used to be appointment television for me, and that goes all the way back to being a kid in the 80s. Now, I just don’t care. I’ve watched more minutes of women’s games this season than men’s. Iowa Football is getting closer to that same mindset.
Also, please don’t mention the word “defending” in the same sentence with Fran ever. Fran has no idea what the meaning of that word is.
I’d prefer he do it immediately
What about the coach with the most losses in program history?Iowa is not going to outright fire the winningest coach in its program's history.

He doesn't seem to get too excited about bad calls anymore. Just sits on the bench looking over the top of his glasses.Good Lord...it's time.
Tell me I'm wrong.
North Carolina. And then immediately come out of retirement to coach Butler?
Anybody who's served in the US military knows the acronym ROAD. Might be entering that phase. He doesn't seem to get too excited about bad calls anymore. Just sits on the bench looking over the top of his glasses.
He isn't coaching Butler. He'll move to Indy and do part time studio work for BTN. He and the Mrs. will be a loud presence in the stands at Butler games though. And then immediately come out of retirement to coach Butler?
