There’s only one reasons any of us would and that’s if he comes back here to do anything other than coach the o-line.Who cares?
He's never coming back to Iowa. I'll take wagers on that one. There’s only one reasons any of us would and that’s if he comes back here to do anything other than coach the o-line.
Maybe as an alumnus for a reunion of the 2002 or 2004 B1G champion teams. He's never coming back to Iowa. I'll take wagers on that one.
I'd even doubt that at this point. He was ignominously ejected from the program and he was really bitter upon leaving.Maybe as an alumnus for a reunion of the 2002 or 2004 B1G champion teams.
Ditto.Who cares?
If Barta had simply fired him after the 2022 season it would have been better for everyone, including him.I'd even doubt that at this point. He was ignominously ejected from the program and he was really bitter upon leaving.
Maybe, but the guy who created the problem in the first place is the guy who ultimately should have addressed it, and that was Kirk. There was never any doubt as to who Brian actually worked for. Barta didn't feel it was his place to get directly involved with Kirk's staff, let alone his son. Beth felt no such restrictions and pulled the trigger, ending a situation that never should have taken place to begin with.If Barta had simply fired him after the 2022 season it would have been better for everyone, including him.
he's going to save the Chicago Bears
not sure what you mean by ignominiously, or whatever that word is supposed to be, but it was disgraceful and embarrassing the way he left Iowa.I'd even doubt that at this point. He was ignominously ejected from the program and he was really bitter upon leaving.
who doesn't enjoy a nice black hoodie?not sure what you mean by ignominiously, or whatever that word is supposed to be, but it was disgraceful and embarrassing the way he left Iowa.
It means embarrassing or disgraceful 😃not sure what you mean by ignominiously, or whatever that word is supposed to be, but it was disgraceful and embarrassing the way he left Iowa.

Kirk would still have Brian as OC if he couldMaybe, but the guy who created the problem in the first place is the guy who ultimately should have addressed it, and that was Kirk. And he's not. There’s only one reasons any of us would and that’s if he comes back here to do anything other than coach the o-line.
What makes you think Brian is leaving Maryland and why would they fire Locksley?Won't they fire Locksley?
I was shocked to learn Maryland made 4 consecutive bowls up until this year? They’re better than Nebraska! What makes you think Brian is leaving Maryland and why would they fire Locksley?
They won 3 bowl games in a row prior to this season and just signed an outstanding recruiting class. They are in an excellent area to recruit with a lot of potential to improve.I was shocked to learn Maryland made 4 consecutive bowls up until this year? They’re better than Nebraska!
And then Brian Ferentz came to town. And it was all downhill this season. They won 3 bowl games in a row prior to this season and just signed an outstanding recruiting class. They are in an excellent area to recruit with a lot of potential to improve.
Looks like Josh Gattis (Co-OC/WR) is going to be let go from Maryland.Just out of downright morbid curiosity, I cannot wait to see what job he lands next.
It is sad how it all turned out in the bigger picture. He was a key part one of the best stretches in Kirk's tenure, but the nepotism stained the legacy.I'd even doubt that at this point. He was ignominously ejected from the program and he was really bitter upon leaving.
Stop being a dumbass. And then Brian Ferentz came to town. And it was all downhill this season.
Brian. Get back out there for Maryland in the spring and work your magic!Stop being a dumbass.
P5 OL or TE coach is his ceiling; it would be pretty impressive to reach that only 2 seasons after his inglorious dismissal. I guess we’ll see.Looks like Josh Gattis (Co-OC/WR) is going to be let go from Maryland.
Kevin Sumlin currently coaches tight ends. I predict they'll move Sumlin to coach WR, and make Brian the tight ends coach.
Say what you want about Brian, but he has a good reputation as a tight ends coach and recruiter.
Man, how far has Sumlin's career come off the rails?Kevin Sumlin currently coaches tight ends. I predict they'll move Sumlin to coach WR, and make Brian the tight ends coach.

Hubris has stained legacies and taken down lots of successful people who have felt overly secure in their position and/or their abilities. Failure was never a consideration for Kirk when he promoted Brian and I'm sure he felt confident that whatever Brian lacked to be successful, he himself could provide. When that wasn't enough he brought in Budmayr and went all in on Cade. When that wasn't enough the school brought in Beth Goetz because Kirk was hell bent on keeping Brian there for as long as he was there. It is sad how it all turned out in the bigger picture. He was a key part one of the best stretches in Kirk's tenure, but the nepotism stained the legacy.
Because. Kirk.I thought he was a terrible OC and should have been fired by Barta in 2022. But now looking back on it I don't know if it was the best move to publicly fire him mid season and leave him on the staff. It's just odd. Either fire him and remove him, or do it at the end of the season. I would love to know more of why they did that.

Probably because he was an entitled arrogant incompetent p**** and it was to embarrass him, but just my swag.I thought he was a terrible OC and should have been fired by Barta in 2022.
