I think it would be nice if he was held to the same standard as Biden or Obama. Not that they would tank the economy and go golfing, but it would be nice if Fox spent as much time covering Trump golfing instead of meeting fallen heroes at Dover AFB, as they spent on Obama's tan suit.
Oh, I know—I was just making light of the whole thing. In Trump's tiny little brain, he probably sees himself as the big shot who gets to hit the golf course and kick back while the rest of the world spirals. There are a few ways this could play out: one possibility is that the tariffs backfire spectacularly, triggering a global recession. Another is that the U.S. loses its status as the central hub of trade, and the rest of the world—especially Europe, its largest trading partner—just moves on without it. Or maybe countries cave, negotiate with Trump, and cut deals to avoid steep price hikes. I’d guess that’s the outcome he’s banking on.
