It's really not just your typical b*tchfest. There is a serious problem with the way Wisconsin interprets & plays the game.2 days later and we're still in yore heads. Thanks for the schadenfreude.
Nor do we care. But they only mentioned it 15 times on the broadcast.Pissconsin won because of luck. Iowa likely would have won with their whole team intact. Pissconsin probably doesn't know that Iowa had their starting point guard Ulis and best player Kris Murray out with injuries.
Fran is 6-4 v Gard, I believe. It will get better.Yeah, the something is they win…
True but the Wisconsin style has rankled plenty of otherwise emotionally stable coaches since Bennett introduced it all those years ago.Crean flipped out because he’s a nut.
Swinging the elbows establishes the cylinder the opposing players are not supposed to be in.Clearly none of you have ever watched a Wisconsin basketball practice. They start every practice by doing drills on how to most effectively swing your elbows. Whenever they scrimmage they don’t keep track of the score, rather the winning team is the one that can commit the most fouls without drawing a call
It’s amazing they ever win a game with the amount of time they spend practicing cheap shots
Surely you can agree considering Luka Garza got his number retired from doing thatSwinging the elbows establishes the cylinder the opposing players are not supposed to be in.
According to bucky fans.
Of course a wisky fan laughs about a serious undercut that can really hurt someone. I swear wisky fans like the dirty play. They seem to relish in it. I remember seeing Brad scumbag Davidson nutpunch a michigan state player twice in 1 game. Classic wiskyGood example....I forgot about that play. I think that was Tony? He was pissed. That's the type of play that makes a player think for a split second the next time they go up for a rebound.....and that is the objective of their style of defense....getting in the oppositions head in a variety of ways that takes them out of their game.

That’s implemented day one of preseason practice. If you can’t nut punch you can’t play for UW.Of course a wisky fan laughs about a serious undercut that can really hurt someone. Defense isn’t for everyone. But it wins. It’s a team game. The team is greater than the sum of its individual pieces.True but the Wisconsin style has rankled plenty of otherwise emotionally stable coaches since Bennett introduced it all those years ago.
It really frustrates anyone -- coaches, commentators, and fans alike -- who cling to the (misguided, imo) view that the team with the most talented players should win.
I can respect it because it wins but I'll never enjoy watching it and neither will the majority of CBB fans.
Dirty play is what bothers me about wiscy. Years ago i actually respected them for their defense but Brad changed the culture and i still see his influence. It's been to many years of just the dirty stuff that bugs me. I respect the football team although thought Leonard deserved a shot at head coach. That’s implemented day one of preseason practice. If you can’t nut punch you can’t play for UW.
So its not a wiscy thing, it's a wiscy basketball thing.Defense isn’t for everyone. But it wins. It’s a team game. The team is greater than the sum of its individual pieces.
We already knew that.....That’s implemented day one of preseason practice. If you can’t nut punch you can’t play for UW.
True statement, but some of the stuff that seems to happen pretty regularly in Wisky games wouldn't even be tolerated in pick up games, at least not without some yelling and shoving. It isn't just one player or one season, which does lead me to believe that it is encouraged by the coaches.Defense isn’t for everyone. But it wins. It’s a team game. Thats why i really believe it's a culture thing now.True statement, but some of the stuff that seems to happen pretty regularly in Wisky games wouldn't even be tolerated in pick up games, at least not without some yelling and shoving. Robbie showed them at the end!
