Is there such a thing as too much fun?

It ****ing has to be an inside joke at this point. They literally didn't go a single PSU finals match without mentioning fun. Between the PSU wrestlers, Cael, and the interviewers. I'm convinced it's an inside joke.

Fun is the effect of winning. Not the cause.

If you win titles, you'll be having fun.

How much fun is gullibon having right now?

****ing backwards. I've never in the history of watching sports, seen an analyst, player or coach act as if having fun can lead to winning and not vice versa; winning leads to fun.

It's hilarious at this point how often "fun" gets mentioned. Embarrassing for the analysts to perpetuate that narrative though.

Winning leads to fun, fun by itself does not really lead to winning - interesting theory.

I hear Iowa State wresting practices are a lot of fun. Hardly have to work - mainly just fooling around. It is the meets and tournaments that aren't any fun.

Nolf screwed up the script a bit talking about hard training and preparation. Said the fun was getting his hand raised. Nolf is what Iowa style is all about. We need guys like him.

You guys will never get it. It's about not putting pressure on the wrestlers so they can perform their best and go 5-5 in the finals with 3 underdogs winning and beating the rest of the nation tonight in a dual 21.5-15. Gotta give america's all star team credit though, that's the most points anyone got in a dual against Penn State all year!

Iowa has had it previously so go away. Don't understand why any PSU fan would come here just to gloat

Oh, we get it. Most here think we wrestle too tight and would wrestle better if we just "let the fur fly". Much easier to do when the wrestler is just better ( top 5 PFP type guy). We don't have that luxury.

What you just don't get is how idiotic your wrestlers and coaches sound trying to squeeze the word fun into every sentence that comes out of their mouths.

Back to ignore for you. Can't believe I was baited into taking you off ignore to read this post. Bad judgement on an otherwise good day.

Agree. I've felt for some time, this is a schtick PSU has to attract recruits. It gets repeated ad nauseum by Cael and many associated with PSU. It is often coupled with the "Iowa kids are robots and don't do anything but push" by the some of PSU sewer dwellers on themat forums.

As long as they continue to kick ass, whatever they say will be seen as gospel and the neysayer will be viewed as the idiot neanderthal.

1. Competing is supposed to be fun.
2. Winning is fun.
If you can figure out how to make preparation for competition fun, 1 and 2 will take care of themselves.

With the talent Cael has brought into that program, my guess is that they could play dodgeball and four square each and every practice and still bring home the hardware when it counts.

And what a way to avoid burnout…..
