Well lets see, Calahan, Pelini, Riley, Frost...Nope. You had one guy there who could coach his way out of a paper bag, and fired him because he only won 9 games every year. Keep looking though.......
a "very good D"???? By what definition? NCAA total defense stat for 2020 has them at #50. Maybe we got much different thinking on "good".
At this point NE just needs to ride Frost and hope that he can elevate the program some at a future point down the road or just let him drive it further into the ground...the program is a disaster either way and NE is going to have to hope Frost grows as a coach quickly.

Frost has to grow up and take responsibility himself. He's always passing blame to the players, "they're not tough enough", "too undisciplined", "we don't coach that." Then he wonders why his recruits leave every year. Until he grows up, the Nubskers won't get over the hump. They may beat Iowa on occasion, cause you know, even a blind squirrel can occasionally find a nut.

C'mon man, you've won by a total of 12 points over the last 3 games, and ran for 2.9 yards/carry last year. I think it's safe to say with the majority of our defense coming back, and Martinez back, we'll be favored in Lincoln.
Yeah, our self-inflicted mistakes have to end. They've cost us a number of games over the last 3 years. Frost needs to get that under control.

I listed to the Hail Varsity podcast now and then. Their announcers were chewing out the fans who said Iowa wasn't a rival. Honestly, I can't get enough of hearing their anguish. The Nebraska depression is one of my life's greatest pleasures.
Not saying I disagree, but frankly, just what the hell would a top to bottom Nebraska rebuild look like?
I'd say they need a great coach. They should have enough money. After all, they have egocentric boosters who gladly pay for the stadium's empty seats to maintain their phony ass attendance record.
They need to fire their fanbase, for one.
They need an AD that understands the Big Ten, and a defensive-minded coach, kinda like Ferentz I guess. They need to flip their recruiting from focusing on skill players to focusing on linemen/front 7 guys. And they need to ditch the hurry-up.
Who's going to coach Fidone? The dumb ass has to know where to run, and they don't have a QB who can find him.

Iowa fans (like many others in the big ten) did not treat Nebraska fans fairly when they joined the conference. Nebraska was very humble and welcomed new rivalries and trophy games.

Hahahaha. Holy cow I needed a good laugh this morning. Thanks for coming through for me. You must not have visited this board when it happened or were around here those first few years when Nebraska actually beat us. The level of arrogance, hubris and elitist views expressed by Husker fans here was through the roof. But funny thing happened since Nov. 15'. Seemed like from that win and so on every year just had fewer and fewer Husker trolls after loss after loss piled up against Iowa and basically anyone else they played. Then we saw a brief spike in Jan. 18' when we were all warned of the incoming Frost warning (still waiting for that to come to fruition). But Nebraska fans and humble is quite the oxymoron for this site.
