Is tipping getting out of control? Yes! 100x YES!

Got a bagel this morning and tipped the young gal a buck for my $3 breakfast. Keep on keeping on!

What if it's a place where you order at the counter, but a server still brings you your food?
But I have to go refill my own drink and put my tray on the trash bin on the way out.

There is a place like this I like to go. I add at most 10%. And frankly I go there less because of it. It’s annoying as F to flash that 20% minimum til when they do next to jack shit.

I bought a brownie at Panera today. Felt guilty I didn’t hit the tip button. Why leave $0.80 for a grab n go bakery item? She was hot though. Maybe I should’ve tipped.

As if it wasn't bad enough they want my tip for the guy passing me a donut across the counter, now self-checkout machines are asking for tips too.

Customers at airports, bakeries, coffee shops, and stadiums are now being prompted to leave tips at self-checkout kiosks. Many question where these tips are going, especially with minimal to no employee interaction involved. This practice, often called "tip creep," adds to the growing trend of "tip fatigue" and "tipflation," making consumers feel pressured to tip more frequently and in more diverse situations.

I never feel bad about not tipping at pick up places like Subway or ModPizza or a place like that. That’s just the business model.

However, my daughter works as a hostess at a nice restaurant and she has to gather and assemble the to-go orders and it’s a fair amount of work. For places like that I usually still tip 10-15% but you’d be surprised at how many people leave no tip.
My wife yells at me if I don’t tip 20%. 🙄. She is part of the problem.

My wife and I stayed at a hotel in Alexandria, VA this weekend and I left a $20 bill for the cleaning staff. I'm at the point in my life where it's not much money to me, but quite a bit to them.
