It's not illogical to me. Downey seems determined to wrestle 184 for ISU this year, so until the year is over I'm gonna believe he is capable of doing it. A lot of people don't think Grothus can make 141 and be productive. I think he can and until the end of the year I'm gonna believe he can score big points for us in March. If Grothus wrestled tonight I believe he would have destroyed Rodriguez.

All very fair points that I really do not disagree with overall. But I will believe Downey wrestling at ISU when I see it. His history is spotty at best. And I think he's a much better freestyler than folkstyler. As stated in my last post, I hope he ends up at ISU.
Absolutely. He's a heck of a freestyler. He's not as accomplished as a collegian folkstyler.
He may have some the weakest lungs I've seen. And that doesn't bode well for a LOADED 184 weight class. Get your AA first at Iowa Central and then talk. Midlands will be the telling story
My grades are as follows:
133-Just missed bonus (again)by the hair on a fleas balls. This time against better competition. B+
141-Ryan wrestles tough and at one point almost had their guy on his back...slowed his Mo and let ISU recover. Remember, LR was booted in the off season so he didn't get a full summer in the room. Wish he had. C+
149-Another guy seperating himself from the pack. I think BS is starting to realize that he can take anybody down.
A-
157-I expect more from a well-traveled, experienced senior...Needs to get to his shots. Love the pressure and handfighting. Whiny little bitch on the other team was looking for his paw-paw or someone to save him. B
165-Good match by both kids...fun to watch. Rhoads is just a little bit of match experience from beating that guy. If they wrestled in Feb, I think he gets it done. B
174-Like others, really wished Alex would have poured it on. B
184-Sammy is a bad man. Could have been a bit sharper but he played "pin a pud" at the end...loved the urgency. A-
197-I liked that Burak went out looking to score points. It's great that NB is so consistent...it can be bad sometimes too against marginal competition. A-
HWY-Many thought Queen was favored in this match. Stoll not only whooped him but was fun doing it. That foot sweep tho...I think Sam has already figured out what some of us have yet to...he is going to be a BAMF. A
125-Wish they had sent the other guy out. TG distanced himself from last year's result with Larson. A-
Stoll is also the man of the match. He is in great shape for a big man and aggressive...always looking to pin. I think it's ICU who said we look different...it's because we do. In the past few years, some of our guys seemed satisfied with just getting a W in a dual meet like this. I think all of our winners were looking to bonus at the end. Even Rhoads didn't stop scoring until the whistle. Like what I'm seeing so far. I'll let Brands be more critical of their performance...this is a different team.
