It’s Official.. Empty Arenas

Over 60,000 people have already had the virus and recovered.

More people in China have now recovered than are infected.

It's not significantly different than a flu.

Old people in bad health die when they get the flu too.

Italy has had significantly hirer flu deaths rates too compared to most developed countries. Because their population is older and less healthy to begin with.

They don't die at this high of rate though. Even the most conservative estimates say it has a ten times higher mortality rate than the flu. And it spreads fast. One of the biggest worries as well is that hospitals wouldn't be able to handle all the cases if you just let normal activity continue.

The NCAA has taken this one step further and banned cheerleaders and bands. All we're likely to hear are squeaking sneakers and trash talk. Could be interesting.

Unfortunately, I would guess that the entire tournament is going to be cancelled, as just about everything is being shut down. If they proceed, since "home court advantages" will be less important, the committee should seed and use locations that minimize travel for the teams.

The rates on this thing are skewed right now because it's only hit old people for the most part.

Theres allot of younger people infected without symptoms yet. Once it spreads across the population estimates are the numbers will likely end up less than %2. So yes a little worse than the flu.

Cancelling these games that were going to be played in empty areanas isn't going to have any effect on the spread of this thing.
