That my friends is demoralizing. How Iowa could have slide so much in just a couple of years is at the least frustrating. It is even more than just frustrating and downright wrong and unbelievable that Iowa has not won a regular season title since what, 1978? And an individual title since 1972 I think. You would have to think that they would have stumbled and bumbled their why into a title like a drunk at some point, but sadly no. ISH. I'm even more depressed now that I have just written this. IRG!

Teams don't stumble and bumble their way to conference titles, but they can sort of do that to get to a Sweet 16, which is why a majority of Div 1 programs have done it since Iowa was last there. A conference title drought is something a lot of teams have, but Iowa's Sweet 16 drought is befuddling. They should have accidentally gotten to one under Alford or Fran; there are multiple seasons that it took an absolute no-show to not get there.

Technically they should have one in 1997 when Minnesota cheated their way to the title and was stripped of their season. but the B1G choose not to recognize a champion from that season
