So you're saying that technically, Dake could win the Olympic Trials but USA wrestling can decide to send Taylor to Mongolia for the Last Chance Tourney to qualify the weight? So, if they do in fact send Taylor to the Last Chance Tourney and he wins and qualifies the weight than would there be a wrestle off between Dake and Taylor to see who goes to Rio?
Ok, thanks. Shouldn't be the case this year than. Guy wins Trials, same guy gets sent to Last Chance qualifier since the dates don't conflict at all.If Dake were to beat both Taylor and Herbert at the Trials it's his spot. I believe there was a special wrestle off the last time because Scott won the Trails, but the other guy had to skip the trials to qualify the weight.
So it depends. If Dake wins head to head at Trials, no. If one isn't at the Trials because they are trying to qualify the weight, a separate wrestle off will be held.
That guy totally took away Tony's high crotch, had two quick counters then ran and avoided the high crotch rest of the match!! Well scouted.
Kinda going off topic but if you believe SEC schools hold their athletes to the same standards as the rest of their "regular" students you might want to take a different look. You might want to look at academic AAs and graduation rate. Just sayinI admire an Iowa fan with the nerve mock the academics at other Big 10 schools.
Here's where the B1G schools are listed among national universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings:
12. Northwestern
29. Michigan
41. Illinois
41. Wisconsin
47. PSU
52. tOSU
57. Maryland
61. Purdue
69. Minnesota
72. Rutgers
75. Indiana
75. Michigan State
82. Iowa
103. Nebraska
There are four SEC schools ranked above Iowa, too.
In a lesser man tempted to throw stones at other B1G schools, Iowa's reputation as an institution of higher learning might trigger the "people in glass houses" reflex. But gablefan is like the honey badger. He don't care.
I always considered Tony a sweep single guy. He just needs to pull the trigger more, IMO.
Hate to be the question master on the forum, but will McD be ready for the Trials? Like to have 3 horses in the mix for 57kg. I still like Tony win the spot, but Dennis is right behind him with Humphreys poised to take it as well.
A healthy McD could also win the spot too.

This sucksMatt said he will not be participating in the trials. He recently has surgery.

Correct. And I don't think we'll see Matt at 57 kg again. I do think he'll continue to compete for a while, however.
I actaully don't know that he will. I know he has a desire to coach and he may be ready to move on after the injury. Like you said, 57kg would be tough and I'm not sure he's big enough to go up and be effective. In talking to someone close to him last spring, he has that cut to 121 down to a science. I guess we'll see. I hope he does whatever will make him happiest.

This always makes me think of Tom n Terry squaring off for the weight class.
I cant choose
-----So far the video has been down at UWW, however a Russian page has available streams. I haven't found any working schedule so far, so it's challenging to locate US wreslters.
Here's the page

Are 65 kg matches going on right now? From you're link, I'm able to see all three mats with action, but can't enlarge, so don't know who is wrestling, only the countries.
Website showing he lost by fall after being down 2-0.Anyone know how the semi went or when it will be wrestled?
Thank you good sir. I'll be setting my alarm. A bronze at the Yarygin is no small feat.Website showing he lost by fall after being down 2-0.
He will wrestle for Bronze.
He initiated all the offense and continued to attack late in the 2nd after he got the lead. Had another TD at the end but I don't think it was awarded.Metcalf down 3-0 at the end of 1 and wins 6-3!
