Jack has Season Ending Injury (Torn Meniscus; Surgery Next Week; OUT 4-6 Months). Hawkeye Elvis Nails it. CMac should be Ok

Hoping Jack will be ok and able to return, but it didn't look good. I thought it looked almost like a hook and hold when he got injured. #23 for Michigan had him by the left arm. For all the BS reviews earlier in the game and the flagrant on Luka, I'd have thought the refs would at least review it.

I was hoping to see a replay of that also...

From the single replay I saw it just looked like two guys underneath fighting for position and he maybe just braced/torqued the knee and it gave. Hoping he just zinged it, but the way he crumpled makes me think it's not good. Hoping to hell it's minor--as we all know the kid deserves some good news for a change!
Fingers crossed for The Nunginator!!!!

It looked like he was putting some pressure on it when he came back with the crutches. That's the only positive I can find, feel so bad for him

I tore an MCL in high school football, which hurt. Laid on the field for a few minutes, and then was able to jog off to the sideline. When the doctor checked me out he told me I wasn't going back in but I wasn't on crutches at that point. That was the 2nd game but it turned out I needed surgery and I was done for the season. Sprain could be a couple weeks. Tear is likely a couple months. Let's hope that it is only a sprain or something even lighter as we are dead in the tourney without a backup center giving Garza rest.

What we know now is that Fran needs to go hard after at least one senior transfer big man for next season, if not two. Garza will be gone and Jack just seems to be one of those guys that as snake bitten on the injury front. Unfortunately some people are like that with non-contact injuries.

Can he graduate this year? This is his fourth year in the program. Wonder how much longer he’ll stick it out. Just awful luck.

Feel for the guy. Only luck he seems to have is bad luck. Hope he recovers abs leads the Hawks next year on and off the court with great success.

Absolutely sucks. Kid has fought back from adversity before and the loss of his dad is brutal. At some point you do have to wonder if he just says "eff it", but I hope not. He deserves some good moments in life and in this program.

I have no idea but how many surgeries can that right knee take?

just sucks for him and the team

Forcing Keegan now to relieve Luka. That only works well against a team with a smaller guy at 5. Good thing that tosu doesn't have a Cockburn or Dickinson at the 5.

Hope to hell his family and friends keep him close and spirits high. Last time he went through this, he had his dad to lean on...not now unfortunately. That sucks to think about. Already 10x tougher guy than I was at that age (or am now probably)

Hope Jack makes a full recovery and comes back stronger than ever. Maybe next year will be better for the young man He deserves a few breaks going his way. Jack all of Hawkeye Nation will be praying for you.

Jack is only a sophomore scholastically, if he stay's at Iowa until he exhausts his eligibility he will have his masters and then some. Not many college students athletes can say they achieved that level without accruing some debt.
Great start to him becoming a doctor if that is his goal.

I think FM needs to figure out a way to get Kris M on the floor as well.
I was thinking the same thing. Hard to believe that one twin could be that much better than the other. What about getting a few minutes from our Fr big? He could at least come out and give a few fouls to spare Luka...

Well, somebody has to spare Luka at some point. Ogundele is next man up, he's likely to get thrown to the wolves here shortly. This may allow some time for KM2 as well, and maybe more Perkins. Gotta do something right?

Not the way you draw it up, but crap happens and here we are.

He may finish his eligibility and immediately become the team M.D.

Feel absolutely terrible for Nunge. I sure hope he can recover and get out there again next season. Unfortunately I can't help but wonder at this point if he hangs it up and moves on from basketball.
