I’d look at my bank statements man’s laugh.if your husband and sons were constantly being trashes would you want your youngest to play in such a toxic atmosphere?

Your such a freakin stooge. Like Lick would be our only other option.....yup as I hear lick is availble, here's to hiring lick again.
yeah good luck with that even Lute had 2 losing seasonsOr the next lute Olson
Dude get real. He also took his teams to SIX final fours! One at Iowa and FIVE at Arizona where he took a morbid program to being a regular conference top dog and 28 NCAA appearences. A little slack with that record is warranted.....yeah good luck with that even Lute had 2 losing seasons
They'd all do themselves a world of good by GTFO social media.I agree, but I said this over a year ago on this site, and was laughed at and assured there was NO WAY Jack didnt come to Iowa. Its been pretty clear from public statements from Mama bear that she's been more then a little displeased with how "the fans" have treated the two older sons over the last several years. I'd have been shocked if Jack came to Iowa. The bad part is, I'll bet without any hesitation that Jack will be the best of the three brothers by far, as a well rounded talent. Yes we'll be fine, but you could see this coming for sometime now....
This one's jarring isn't it? I mean, being up front about not even considering Iowa...
Like it's proof of the existence of a kind of fundamental animosity between the McCaffery family and us, the Iowa fans.
Doesn't feel like a healthy relationship going forward and I can't help but think the end is close. Not that I couldn't be wrong on all this and he just personally wants to leave Iowa City that badly.
Could be just as much about Fran telling his family that he likely won't be here when Jack goes to college. This one's jarring isn't it? I mean, being up front about not even considering Iowa...

I wish you were moving on…… to a different team.Boo hoo.. moving on.

Or N.I.L. ?Could be just as much about Fran telling his family that he likely won't be here when Jack goes to college.

What Iowa fans have wanted all along is fair distribution of playing time which Fran has proven he is totally incapable of when his kids are involved. Iowa fans have also wanted well rounded players who play basketball that is competent enough on both sides of the ball where a sweet 16 is possible. Iowa fans want a coach that can handle his emotions, who doesn't have complete meltdowns on the floor that builds resentment among the refs and embarrasses the school/fans.Jack stated that he's been thinking about leaving Iowa City for a while. Fran obviously told him there's no guarantee he will be at Iowa thru 2029 and that if he chose another school there's no guarantee that head coach would be there thru 2029.
It's too bad for Iowa basketball because Jack right now is 6'9 and really good; imagine what he will be like 2 years from now when he will be entering college. But this is what the Iowa fan base wants! No more McCafferys on scholarship at Iowa!
Back to the original quotes:
"I don't think I will go there. I made that up in my mind a while ago. I want to get away from home. I talked to my parents and brothers about it and I think that's the best thing for me."
Better or worse than Tanya Alford?Based on her behavior I've personally seen at Carver, if Margaret McCaffrey were my mother I'd wanna get away too. Far away.
Better or worse than Tanya Alford?
Consider my feelings hurt.I wish you were moving on…… to a different team.
Patrick has hinted this is his last yearIf true, that would mean 2 more years of the Fran era

Gotta love people reporting on their gossip with other people as newsIf Chris is right, Fran might be done in March of 2025 (or sooner).
check this out & watch:
Deal! Wins from NIT do not count, B10 tournament and NCAA's only.wanna make a bet on this team does?
a perma self ban, IA wins 20+ games you leave and never return, less than 20 wins and I leave.
Well said.Or it could be he just wants to determine his own path and make his own friends. I certainly don't blame him for that. It could be he wants to a break from everything, including the day to day with his family. Yes there is baggage with the fan base but there's also baggage with his family as well. I'm not trying to imply he doesn't care about his family, but we all reach a point where we need to determine our own direction. If he goes somewhere else, he no longer is Fran's kid, or Patrick/Connor's brother. He doesn't have to hear the day to day issues of his dad and his brothers. As someone who had older siblings, I can remember all the issues I lived through. It was nice to go to college and only worry about myself. Jack deserves the same thing. I personally believe this is the right decision for Jack and I think he's making the right decision for him. I give him credit for making the tough decision. And who knows, maybe he'll learn to play defense (oops, did I say that).
Iowa has probably some of the best, easy going, hospitable fans in college sports. Have you been anywhere else? Read any other sites? Just try the OSU or FLA or USC sites if you want to wake up to what fans say. Putting your kids on a team you coach has problems written all over it. I get why it gets done and Fran seems to be the type to make it work, but it didn't work out the way anybody envisioned. Jack leaving is not a done deal, IMHO, but I don't blame him for thinking Iowa is not for himSmart, smart decision by the McCaffreys. Many nasty and vile fans.
The fans at games have cheered for the coach and his sons. I'd agree that social media is the catalyst. It is impossible to avoid negativity. That doesn't mean most fans feel this way. They'd all do themselves a world of good by GTFO social media.
shared BT Championship and then losing in the 1st game of the NCAAT.And don’t forget the regular season big ten title and a final four.
