Jackson Stratton SHOULD start next week. Hat Tip to Shaggy & Tim Lester. KF: "He's the leader of the group right now."

Heaven, Iowa
Iowa didn't need to pass much today; they ran it 58 times for 268 yards.

But when they did need to pass, Shaggy slung it and was accurate (there were balls that should have been caught).

Jackson's stats: 10-14, 76 yards, 0 INTs.

The color commentator said it best; Shaggy never made the same mistake twice.

Iowa (7-4) wins 29-13.

GO HAWKS!!!

I honestly don’t have too much trouble with the offense and the coaching for this team…

I’m honestly devastated that the defense has been so piss poor & times

They kept saying during the broadcast that Stratton was 4th string.

However, in fall camp, Jackson was 5th string:

Cade McNamara
Brendan Sullivan
Marco Lainez
James Resar--moved to WR
Jackson Stratton

Has there ever been a starting-out-the-year 5th string QB, start and win at Iowa?

Tim Lester deserves a lot of credit. First year as OC and he's had to roll with 3 different QBs. Stratton looked very calm and confident out there today.

As for next week, if KFz starts Cade (which would not surprise) people are going to lose their minds.
Amazing what a real coordinator can do. Kirk has to be highly embarrassed watching Lester constantly adjust and deal with inferior talent when his boy’s hand picked guys fielded historically bad offenses and Kirk supported it all.

Shocking what happens when you get rid of the worst offensive coordinator in the history of college football, isn’t it? Lester has been a breath of fresh air. Outside of the Iowa state game, the offense is not the glaring weakness on this team. The defense has been surprisingly weak this year.

“Piss poor” would be a relative term… I think too many fans had too high of expectation of tge defense…..therefore vs. MSU was uninspiring, granted… but all in all, it is what it is…
Can’t be surprised Iowa won today…Kirk frustrates his haters by winning these kind of games…he’s a damn solid FB coach with strengths and foibles just like us all…but he is a good one for rallying the troops when least expected….Go Hawks! Beat the Huskers!

Hasn’t kept the negativity away…but then again I haven’t been here 🤷‍♂️
