He has very good arm strenght and accuracy on those long out patterns, really looked good in his technique getting feet in place and shoulders turned. throws a nice spiral. At least we know he can be a very good backup but he might be a starter

My guess is that it will be Lester's call. Kirk is clearly giving him more control over the offense than any previous OC at Iowa. I'm guessing that Lester made it clear from the start that either he controls the offense or he's gone.

Hats off to Stratton, but aren't some of you getting carried away? We were able to run the ball so he simply had to be a game manager. If we struggled with the run game like a few other games this year, it would have been pretty ugly.

I have a feeling that Kirk would point out to folks what happened this year as to why he doesn’t want a “running QB”…he probably has some experiences that lead him to this belief, too.
This is some merit to the “running QBs and dogs that chase cars” analogy.
The defense has given up big plays and has had tackling issues all season long.
These issues cost us big time in losses against Iowa State, Michigan State and UCLA.
We are 7-4; with better defense, we likely would be 10-1 (or 9-2).
