Original Post:

I know it's early, but in another thread we are talking about whether Iowa will really finish 16th or 17th in the B1G. In another thread, there's complaints that things are slow in this forum. And if you don't like this topic, just skip this thread for now.

Right now, Joe Junardi/ESPN essentially has Iowa 13th in the B1G.

Joe/ESPN projects the B1G getting 10 teams into the NCAA Tournament.

The 10 Teams & their Seed:
4 Purdue
5 Indiana
6 UCLA
7 Illinois
7 Michigan State
8 Ohio State
8 Michigan
10 Rutgers (gets 1 of last 4 byes)
11 Maryland (one of last 4 in)
11 Oregon (one of last 4 in)

Others, on the Bubble:
Nebraska.......1st Team OUT
USC................5th Team OUT
IOWA..............7th Team OUT
Wisconsin.....8th Team OUT

The Full Bracket

We are not ahead of Wisconsin. They have better wins.

full text of tweet:

Iowa holds serve at home, and in a big way, routing Indiana by 25.

Hawkeyes have a funky resume, as they are winless in Quad 1, but balance that out with an unblemished 5-0 mark in Q2. The Committee has shown a penchant for very high winning percentages in Q2 for teams who may lack in Q1, so this should not be overlooked.

The resume metrics should be strong enough come tomorrow to have Iowa on the right side of the cutline.

The trip out to LA next week is a huge opportunity to notch a first Q1 (at UCLA), stay unbeaten in Q2 (at a suddenly resurgent USC) and get some road wins on the board (currently 0-2). Winning at least one, if not both, checks quite a few crucial boxes on Fran McCaffrey & Cos. resume.

Winning 3 of the next 4 would put Iowa in a good spot. Let's beat SC and go on from there. Road is tough against anyone, even Minny, which seems to clearly be the worst B1G team.

8 teams in the B1G currently have 2 or fewer conference losses.

Hopefully we can stay in the top 8; better yet, move up. ;)

Standings
1. Michigan (13-3, 5-0)
1. Michigan State (14-2, 5-0)
3. Purdue (13-4, 5-1)
4. Illinois (12-4, 4-2)
4. Indiana (13-4, 4-2)
4. Oregon (15-2, 4-2)
7. Wisconsin (13-3, 3-2)
7. Iowa (12-4, 3-2)

15 games left. I think we need to go 9-6 down the stretch to be a lock. 8-7 and we'll be on the bubble, but probably outside looking in.
Without knowing who they play, yes.

Looking at the remaining schedule, I’m guessing 8-7 is probably a lock too. 7-8 would probably make them a bubble team.

Of course, it all depends on how those wins and losses are distributed.🙂

Every home game is certainly winnable. Reality is we need to put the hay in the barn over the next month because the last 4 games are tough.
We have 5 games left against team currently above us in the standings, 4 of those are at home. Need to take at least two of the upper tier home games (5-2H) and to beat some of the bad teams on the road(4-4A). Puts us at 12-8.

Will it happen, probably not, but if they can keep playing like the last 55 minutes, it is very doable.

Hey now. You can't say that here! Truth equals negativity and this is a positive forum only. Kool Aid drinkers only.
It’s Frans benching, and throwing away the key when they get 2 fouls.
Why play defense when you are not penalized for bad D,
But only penalized for good D?

ISU and Iowa potentially both in Milwaukee. Fun. 1986 both teams played in Minneapolis. Great time.
