Did he play today? Sorry if this has been discussed but I thought I heard he was on the two deeps and looking pretty good in practice. Only saw parts of the game and did not hear his name. Injured?

No. He was banged up and hasn't practiced much recently. KF said should be fine next week.

Mitchell was about the same but could have played today.

All precautionary according to KF.

Unless there is another #3 with Scheel on his jersey, then yes, he was on the field for a couple of plays in the 4th quarter. He was right in front of us.

Link to participation chart. Read somewhere he didn't dress. If I'm wrong I'm wrong.

I don't have a participation chart for ya, but there was definitely a #3 at WR in at the end of the game with Wiegers at QB

So did he play in dress clothes, is that what happened? Just some dude in khaki shorts and a polo? Would explain our DBs the last two ISU drives.

Scheel didn't dress. KF said that it was precautionary and he'll probably be dressed next week.

God knows this team needs some speed and talent at WR.

Just rewatched the last offensive series and there was never a #3 in the game. Maybe you saw #9?
Ummm....yes there was. Late in the fourth quarter, he and Smith were on the field at the same time. Scheel was on the left side, Smith (#9) was on the right.

If he played it was news to the head coach
A little off the subject...but the fake field goal and on side kicks are plays used in games where a team is trying to win. That, also, would be news to our head coach.

I probably missed the report on Scheel but I only recall KF talking about Mitchell not dressing for the game as a precaution after he suffered a minor injury. He should be ready to go this week.

For Scheel it sounds like he was listed in the participation chart but I also did not see him. I was seeing #9 Simpson and #82 Falconer late in the game so I must have missed him also.

I don't know if he played or not, but (1) it wouldn't be the first time the participation chart has been incorrect and (2) it is not usual for deep back ups/walk-on's to change numbers throughout the season, depending on who else is dressed or where they fall on the depth chart.

This is not Danan Hughes

He was definitely in the game on the 2nd and 3rd plays from scrimmage when Wiegers came in the game. I didn't notice it during the game but went back and rewatched several times and it's definitely #3 in the game. I also checked the roster and there are not any duplicate #3's on the roster.

Interesting because he didn't stay with the team in the team hotel and didn't come with the team to the stadium.

Scheel played at the end, Mitchell did dress and who the hell is simpson? #9 for Iowa last name is not Simpson!

If Jay didn't play then somebody did all of the following:
a.) Steal Jay's #3 Jersey
b.) Wear Jay's #3 Jersey during the game
c.) Sneak onto the field wearing Jay's #3 Jersey
d.) Pay off those responsible for participation tracking and falsify the records

...or...

Some people read random comments from uninformed social media posters, took said comments as gospel, refused to acknowledge the above facts, and then chose to spread their wisdom about Jay not playing via this thread.

I'm not saying anybody is right or wrong though...

My only issue is that this kid is very dark skinned and jay is not overly dark. That's my 2 cents on the subject. Maybe it was Jay, I don't know.

Since you joined in 2004, and this was your first post, this literally is your only issue.

To clarify, I used to post constantly, but when they switched boards my post count was lost. Not sure how or why and frankly I don't really care. Obviously a persons post count is the determinign factor on whether they are worth anyone's time. I posted what I saw and that is that.

The same for me as well. I didn't always post a lot before but liked reading everyone's posts from time to time to keep up with the Hawks. Besides I find most of my posts were probably not relevant anyways.
