JBo Postgame

Good teams overcome those issues. Hell, Richmond was 6th in their conference. Obviously, other lesser teams than Iowa figured out how to play them.

Iowa just lacked fortitude. They didn’t play hard, they lacked effort, and didn’t take Richmond seriously.
The way you overcome a clogged lane is shooting. Our shot wasn't dropping. Game over.

Iowa has the athleticism to overcome poor shooting. They just plain choked. Lacked effort and fortitude. Didn’t take Richmond seriously. Iowa had no killer instinct in this game. It’s one thing to lose while playing hard. It’s another to lose giving a half-ass effort.

Apparently, the Iowa men only have half an ass.

I’m not going to rag on JBo personally. So many others are doing that already. What I will say is an observation. It seems like he treated the BTT title as a finish line, when he had the potential for six more games to be played. When you go on twitter and start shining the light on the dark corners of humanity that should have just stayed in the dark, just so you could effectively say “I told you so”, it seems like you’ve given up your concentration on the task at hand. When you hit only two shots in your last game and play matador defense, after scoring zero points in what was supposed to be your last college game ever last season, it seems like you weren’t prepared. I think those things compared to his play the last month and a half of the regular season are why he is such a polarizing player for our fanbase.

You can respect the good things he did while at the same time recognize the faults that held him back from greatness. Most of his records are longevity records, which have to have an asterisk next to them. Even his 10 3s in a game is only on the books because of the extra season he was given because of a once a century pandemic.
To be fair the 10 3s were for one game. Doesn’t really have anything to do with longevity. He made them in a year he was eligible to play.

Yes, but without Covid extra eligibility he wouldn’t have been eligible to play this season to get that record. Which goes back to the asterisk point. His career shooting percentages are great, especially when you consider the volume of shots he took. The free throw streak was great. His career three point shots records will stand probably forever and he easily achieved it in his first four full seasons and then tacked on an extra 1.3 season’s worth of shots.

But he only gets the assists record with the medical redshirt mini-season added, otherwise he’s a few behind Horner still if you only count his first four full seasons. He needed the Covid season to move past Jeff Horner for career minutes played. And the fact he’s not even remotely close to being in our top 10 for career steals after 5.3 seasons shows how bad he was on defense. He was a great shooter, usually, who did a good job handling the ball but had some major holes in his game, and who also took advantage of the rules to build up some super huge career records

Then you and I disagree. Iowans bump into people and say "oops, sorry" even when it was the other guys fault, not berate a meter maid. Iowans buy the bride and groom a drink, they dont even know, not throw their drink at them. Iowans say shit like "scoreboard" and work harder, not blast people on social media. We can agree to disagree.

You are the worst man... I'm sure you embody all of that lol. You project way too much, holy ****.

If the worst you have to deal with is someone who is willing to voice their opinion and say shit like we can agree to disagree you live a very sheltered life. You wouldnt be upset if you thought the things I were saying were completly irrational, it would be discounted as outlandish. Best of luck.
