Jbo Throwing Shots

Ah nice to see the team is concentrating on the important things like attacking other schools fan blog social media accounts and media personalities from Fox/CBS.

I think Frans teams have always had an innate ability to lose focus on dumb things like this and care more about what us morons online are saying then prepping for actual games...

They're quarantined in their room for two days with no outside contact. I don't think some tweets are going to do too much damage, but alright there guy.

Ah yes because everything happens in a vacuum apparently and anything that happens off the court could have no impact on focus and preparation...

Yep, no need for this stupidity before the tourney.

for the second time (at least) this season this guy decided to make things more about him than the team. I’m sick of it. He’s going to end up 2-12 from deep when we get bounced... but hey, Hilton shoe stunts get likes from jock sniffing Iowa fans I guess?

Hilton shoe stunts and things like assists and 3 pointers.

His tweet and podcast timing seem to be exactly negatively coordinated with his performance on the court , the more social media Crp. He pumps out the worse he is on the court.
Really not his job to narc on an opponent.
if we would have won ,he wouldn’t have said a thing luv him but it has crybaby written all over it
To bad because our only chance of a really deep run is for him to play out of his azz

As an illini fan the implication seems to be that we won't be able to keep the banner up due to something like an infraction. That's borderline slander.

I mean he can tweet what he wants to tweet but from my perspective slandering a rival opponent in that manner isn't a great look. But I won't lose any sleep over it 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I don‘t know if Illinois cheats or not. But I do know that you do not understand what constitutes slander.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything because I haven't. I have my doubts about Michigan but that's just from Juwann and the fab five and then getting the recruiting class he's gotten now.

I expect he thinks there's a decent chance Illinois is cheating based on things he's heard, and that certainly wouldn't shock me given Underwood's history and the nature of college basketball.

Still, it's unfair to Illinois to throw that out there without any evidence, and it's poor form - and gives him less credibility - to say it right after a loss.

What history? Certainly none of proven cheating. Even if we accept most Hawkeyes’ fans opinion about the Deon Thomas Era Illini, and they were the dirtiest program in the country, that was THREE DECADES AGO. There hasn’t even been a WHIFF of smoke around Illinois any time in the last 20+ years, and there have actually been rather well-documented cases of Illinois losing OUT on recruits (e.g., Anthony Davis or Derrick Rose) because they weren’t willing to bend the rules. Hell, the most high-profile NCAA investigation of all time didn’t find ANYTHING on Underwood. People can speculate all they want, but that’s all it is.

As you alluded to, it’s one thing when 50-year old Iowa fans throw out “Cheating Illini” baselessly in casual shlt talking. It’s an entirely different story when a senior leader of a rival team flippantly insinuates it on a national platform right after Illinois beat him. Just not a good look, plain and simple.

Now in ALL sincerity, good luck. I’m a Big Ten guy (with the exception of Indiana) when it comes March. I actually like Iowa’s chances against Gonzaga, and given our sides of bracket I hope we might meet again!

I must admit, as much as I agree with KF’s Twitter stance, to help protect kids from messing up their lives on accident, I am enjoying JB taking a loud stance on social media. It’s goofy, it’s fun, and he isn’t doing any harm by saying things that are said on the court every game.

But I am curious if he is making an accusation of Illini recruiting (or something else) that might have been a violation. Seems an odd one.

Reading more about it after your post, I feel like there's less there than I previously assumed.

Both Stephen F. Austin and Oklahoma State were going to be serving postseason bans this year for infractions committed while Underwood was coaching at both schools, though Oklahoma State's ban is now pending an appeal.

However, the Stephen F. Austin infractions spanned multiple sports and had to do with how the school certified players as eligible -- there's no reason I saw to believe that Underwood was at fault for what happened there.

In the case of his year at Oklahoma State, hiring Lamont Evans was clearly a bad decision by Underwood as Evans was later sentenced to prison for accepting bribes to place players with an agent, but there's no evidence that Underwood was involved in the illegal activity. Also, that violation isn't at the level of something that would void a conference championship.

Evans was busted for getting kickbacks to send players to specific agents. To me, personally, that doesn't benefit the program at all and is an entirely different animal than getting busted offering prospects money to play there.

It benefits one guy and that's the one orchestrating it. It's short sighted and getting caught in that cost Evans possibly millions of dollars.

If I knew an assistant was risking my ass by getting side cash just to shuttle players to specific agents he wouldn't be my assistant very long. I personally don't think most smart head coaches would like that risk/reward scenario.

Who cares if you like it or not.. JBo has put in the time the sweat he’s invested.. other words it’s his team at this time.. evidently he feels he has something to say.. at any rate you are like the rest here.. a bystander watching

Because he’s being a sore loser wussy.

I respect the heck out of your team. I was just reading about the Garza’s and Dosumnu’s are friends. I think Weiskamp is awesome. I’d love to have him on my team. You guys are really good and could go far in the tourney. But I have zero respect for Bohannan and his crying. Your coach should handle this and take him off social media. Embarrassing.

I don't think anyone disagrees with you. You should have seen our board when he was playing poorly and going after the NCAA on his podcast. Social media is not great.

He is using the language of the coaches in the conference that evidently can say or do whatever they want without consequences. What he said is fairly close to what turgeon is reported to have said to Howard. Evidently jordan is smart enough not to tweet out he is going to kill someone like Howard said in front of the world.

His comments last time were a mirror of what Gard ran his mouth about.

Only one person saying these things isn't making millions of dollars coaching a game. Only one has not spent a day getting paid as a professional in an adult setting....funny how often we demand a standard of behavior from young people that the adults don't follow.

Thank you.

that's part of his problem. it isn't his team and he isn't liking it. he's 3 rd option now behind garza and weezy. he's is the worst defensive guard in the big ten. it might be his team if he were a lottery pick? he at best is a average college player.
