Bringing back AJ would benefit Iowa wrestling as much as it did the first time you brought him in, which is to say not only did it not benefit Iowa, it cost you a top recruit.
If this is true, it would be a serious tampering violation. Best to keep your mouth shut.

I would also add that Iowa’s boosters are in regular contact with compliance, who obviously know the rules more in depth than message board posters.

NIL is so new and has literally made recruiting and the transfer portal part of the Wild, Wild West. Any rule(s) you THINK you know have changed multiple times or have been contested in court. I took a stance similar to yours back at the very beginning, but the court case that has been mentioned on here pretty much put a stay on those rules almost immediately after NIL took off.
Basically, short of the contact being directed, or performed, by the coaching staff and, MAYBE, some direct Iowa employees working for the Athletic Department, it is ALL fair game right now...

I am NOT defending ANYTHING he did and already went over it VERY clearly!!! Was not there with the driving accident, but I 100% know how many very dumb choices people make behind the wheel. Going TOP down, KUETER, AJ, lil FERARRI, ARNOLD ,CALIENDO that is a real TUFF top 1/2. We have AYALA, and ESTRADA who I believe can be another hammer at 149. We also have DELUCA coming in. That is 8 out of 10 HAMMERS which you will need to have a shot. In todays PORTAL world, who knows what else you might add???

Next year I wouldn’t be surprised to see us roll with Cruz at 125 letting DeLuca season for a year.
As for AJ at heavy. I’m hoping we have Kueter in the title hunt the next two years.

Nobody is ok with this rather feel we are going down the right path with recruiting currently. Personally I feel kicking the tires is not worth the potential harm. Given the history and the failed attempt last year just move on. The effort is better spent recruiting elsewhere. Everyone that wants to entertain it acts like there is no downside.
