Jirehl Brock to Iowa State

Didn't want him anyway... poor character... not as good as our guy... not fast enough... heard he had grade problems... not a good teammate... not willing to work... prefers Pepsi over Coke... ties his shoes wrong way... :)
Iowa told him they were full when Goodson committed a few weeks ago.

He will be good, and I am sure he will be very good at ISU.. he is a great back but lacks the homerun threat.. more of a FB/RB body and will be good for picking up some good chunks of yardage. I won’t lie, I wouldn’t mind having him right now but like many Hawks I wouldn’t give up TGood for a trade .. as I think TGood is going to be like Wadley but faster and bigger as I am sure he will be around 200+ when he gets Doylized..

EXACTLY! Who was that RB from Illinois that played at Iowa as a freshman then got so f’ing fat they switched him to defensive line? Was it McCall? Or something like that? And he ended up getting booted off the Iowa and ISU team.. he was a real dandy

That makes no sense, silly goose!!! Iowa State only takes backs that IOWA no longer wants.

I assume your talking about Rodney Coe, who wanted to play RB, but ended up at a Juco and played DE or something then ended up at ISU, and didn't do much of anything. For the record he was never on the roster at Iowa. McCall was the son of a heavy weight boxer, and showed great promise as a true freshman, then broke his leg later in the year. Never got back on the field at Iowa, and left on his own I believe. Think he went to some directional school in Illinois or Indiana, not to ISU. I think your mingling a couple of different stories here.

McCall broke his ankle in like the season opener after looking promising. Maybe Rodney coe? But he never played at iowa

Correct Coe was the player. He went to same HS as Epenesa. McCall was out of Chicago and you're right a few plays in and he was injured never to play for Iowa again.

Iowa cancelled his visit when another RB took the spot. That's when Brock went to ISU to visit. Sorry Clones. We had one RB spot and we filled it and told Brock to look elsewhere. But if it helps you to think you took one from us, go for it. ISU was probably his best offer at this point.

Not a single negative word has been spoken about the Hawks in this thread...so clearly nobody is "trolling". Just celebrating a bit of good news and sharing with our fellow Iowans.

Let the butthurt flow THROUGH you.
Speaking of butthurt can't wait to bend you over and nutt in your backside for the 4th straight year. Iowa is a better football program and always will be. See you in September.

Quit tearing down the kid. He's a good kid. We just got better. Sad, but we took two better running backs than him. It does make you question his overall talent after committing to ISU. If you desperately commit to ISU, you are clinging to a dream. A fantasy that will never reach reality Do feel sorry for the kid. This kid needs your empathy right now. He needs your support. He missed out on the big time.

He made 5 visits to IC and wouldn't commit. Interpret as you see fit

How would it feel to be a 4 star recruit and end up having to settle for an offer from ISU?

"Quit tearing down the kid" proceeds to tear down the kid...

Not sure but we got a pretty good feel from a Quincy 4* RB who declined offers from ND, Iowa, NW, and Minny, to choose ISU.

Serious question.
Who has the best running back in the state of Iowa right now?
Small hint: his name is David Montgomery and he's, by general consensus, one of the top 3 college backs in the nation.

Your theory on "clinging" to dreams and questioning of talent...exploded. Do better.

Not being mean. He would have been an Iowa commit if the offer was there. He had to settle. End of line.

By consensus?
Walter Football-12
Sporting News-12
Athlon-9
CBS Sports-1

I really couldn't find any others. That is a composite of 8.5. Not quite a consensus third.
Montgomery is good. Won't question it. He is the only player in ketchup and mustard I would trade any of Iowa's players for.

Not being mean to Iowa State, but Iowa had moved on with two better running backs. Simple answer to a simple question. Iowa St. will never have a FB program.
Another sad reality that some ppl need to grasp onto and realize (for their own mental health). Instead of fighting on this board and others. Love my brother, ISU, but it isn't gonna happen in our lifetime. Truth hurts.

Good for him. The moment his offer was gone I forgot about him, and I suggest all Hawkeye fans should do the same. We have our guys who the coaches wanted. Brock had his chance to commit and didn’t, his loss. Fighting with ISU fans is pointless.

Can you document the 'consensus' aspect of this. I would assume that means he is either 1st or 2nd Team All American on most pre season lists. Can you post those teams where he is there?

He didn't decline, he effed up, waited too long for iowa and ND. You did beat out northwestern and Minnesota though

If you really dug into the recruiting of this guy. He's a good kid, don't get me wrong. A very good kid, but an overated D1 athlete. Iowa dodged a bullet. They have two better RB's in this class. You chase stars, you get them,

You always ask for facts then you push your opinions as fact. You are certainly an interesting one.

Congrats on getting commits from Hall and Brock. Iowa got Sargent, now in the program and a commit from Goodson so both programs have good backs for the future.

The big question is whether all three will sign with the schools they committed to come December. We all know Michigan will come calling for Hall and Brock, SEC schools for Goodson.

Everyone needs to chill out and enjoy the ride. ISU is improving but fans coming to an Iowa board to gloat makes you look like little brother. Grow the f up.

Says a guy posting in a thread about Iowa State.

Another instance of deflection, I get it, the claim can't be supported. Feel free to share where I have posted my opinion as fact. I am a patient man, I can wait. More than likely a long wait as I have yet to see you support anything you have posted.

Goodson is not the kind of kid that is going to change his commitment. He will enroll at Iowa.
