Jirehl Brock to Iowa State

I assume you're referring to Brock's declination of Iowa's effort to get him to commit a few weeks back...after which Iowa dropped their offer. Right? If so, we are glad to have waited the few extra weeks until he was ready to pick the school he wanted to attend.

In the meantime Iowa got the rb they evaluated as better. It's simple really Iowa got the one of the two they liked better, then discontinued recruiting Brock. We will continue to get Illinois kids but Georgia is a state we want to have an impact. Things are looking good lately with Trey Creamer, Jaydn McDonald, now Goodson. We have a good chance with Tomari Fox. Good luck to Brock but the Iowa coaches like Goodson more.

I'm fine we didn't get him but regardless it's a nice pick up from them. Breece Hall and Brock are nice additions, I'm sure we would be happy with either of we took more. We will still beat them in the trenches though so I'm fine with it.
You can get banned from this board for logical, common sense statements like this. Just a warning.

Who gives a frogs fat ass. Oh yeah MuskieCy, you like that do ya. Beat it geek. Campbell still looks like a Buck-Toothed Beaver-Weasel.
This from a yellow-headed ditch chicken scrounging around the low lands in search of a victory.

"Bucked Tooth Beaver-Weasel". Awesome. lol. Em R Sum Fighten Words! lol.

Not a single negative word has been spoken about the Hawks in this thread...so clearly nobody is "trolling". Just celebrating a bit of good news and sharing with our fellow Iowans.
It may not be technically trolling, but it is in bad taste at best. It's kind of like going to your mother in-laws house and bragging that your mother just won the blue ribbon at the state fair for her blueberry pie when you know they really don't get along. If you would do that, then feel free to post happily here, but something tells me that most wouldn't do that. What say yea?

Clone preening aside, you can be sure the rest of the country sees it as... "ISU? there must be something up with this kid it that's where he ended up".

Time will tell.

The fact that the writer had a RB who has 80 carries and 600 career yards in the top 10 should give you all you need to know about the validity of that list. Montgomery is a top 10-15 back, like I mentioned before, but no way is he a top 3 back.

FIFY....it was obvious You were talking about Coralville

Those dang Cyclones from Iowa City are at the top of the media watch list. CMC has made a blip, let's see how it plays out. He is a touch behind CPR at this stage of his time at ISU but looks to be on the upswing. Not a trend because that is statistically defined by statisticians but looking up.

How do you know that the coaches like Goodson more? Last time I checked - when the coaches float an offer, it's because they're willing to take the commitment from whomever they've offered. At that juncture, it's essentially a first-come first-serve sort of deal .... until the available scholarships for the given position unit are exhausted.

I've heard that the coaches DO have a recruiting board - and they might have guys who they potentially like more. However, are you privy to that recruiting board?

Why did they cancel his visit? If they liked Brock better they would have waited a little more.

Whatever helps you sleep....probably not easy for you currently

uh, yeah...sure. I lie awake at night wondering what I'm going to post on my rival's website tomorrow...oh wait, that'd be you. I do have to give you credit though, you are consistent with the clone MO. A blissful lack of self awareness is key.

I'm happy for ISU, but the Hawks received commitments from a speedy Florida RB and an awesome get from Georgia, over a good Illinois kid. We are bringing some southern speed to IC.

If Iowa wanted him that bad they would have saved a schollie for him. The real question should be why did all his other offers disappear that made him have to settle for ISU?

Get your facts straight. He had been to ISU twice or three times before the visit you are talking about.
The facts are straight. I never said it was his first visit to ISU. I said he had a visit scheduled with Iowa, then Iowa filled the spot and cancelled the visit. So he visited ISU. That was confirmed by the recruit himself.

They cancelled his visit because Goodson verballed to them. They cannot speak specifics about recruits, so we didn't find out about it until Goodson decided to publically announce it.

If JB went to any of the other school we would think about this recruitment, maybe, once a year. If this guy blows up we will think/hear about this recruitment 12 weeks for 4 years. It is what it is, beat them on the field.

The only offers that "disappeared" were ones in which he declined to commit.

Its a bit like a man (Iowa) proposing to his girlfriend (4 star Recruit X) after an intense courtship (6 or 7 recruiting visits in this case)...demanding an immediate answer...and getting rejected...then claiming he withdrew his offer. Nice try, attempting to salvage one's dignity but both parties know the truth.

The salt in the wound is that said girlfriend then promptly accepted a marriage offer from your romantic rival. Ouch. But hey, that other decent looking girl down the road accepted your proposal...so all is not lost.

Bingo.

Crazy that Iowa turned away 3 ISU recruits in Miller, Brock, and Hall. Good luck to them in the future.

Congratulations, you have solved the riddle. If only there were people to celebrate the accomplishment with. I know the first place I would go is to an opposing teams web site to find those guys. To use your analogy you married the hot girl and chose to spend your wedding night with the guy who got rejected. Hopefully your new wife finds a way to consummate your wedding with you gone. Solid decision making on your part.

Go to an opposing website where multiple threads on ISU and said recruit were started by what appears to be disgruntled hawk fans.

What's laughable - by what has leaked out from most boards - that seems to be the scenario that has floated out the most. Iowa ended up landing a great RB and ISU ended up landing a great back. Iowa fans might not be happy that the Cyclones have landed some quality backs - but it doesn't discount the truth of the statement.

Some guys are worth waiting on. Clearly Iowa doesn't think Brock is. Or they like they guys they have committed as well or better. Either way, good luck with the hand me downs.

He may have declined to commit on a particular day, but he didn’t remove Iowa from the list altogether and may have committed at a later point. However because Iowa had someone else mind they told him there’s no longer a spot for him. So your situation is wrong. It’d be like the man getting engage to some other girl because his current girlfriend said maybe but not right now.

Dude, you twist like a pretzel. You're also too stupid to realize your continued presence here is a de facto admission of your inferiority complex and obsession with IOWA.

The likelihood was that Brock would have committed to the Hawks on June 22nd had the Hawks let him visit. However, Goodson committed first AND the Hawks had accepted a quality JUCO at RB to bolster our experienced RB depth. Consequently, the Hawks went form a situation of having 2 RB spots to fill to having zero spots available.

The facts remain that Brock was a commit that the Hawks wanted. It doesn't matter the circumstances that ultimately led him to ISU ... the important thing for the Clones is that he committed to you guys.
