Jirehl Brock to Iowa State

Brock would have committed to Iowa if a scholarship was available. He waited too long. ISU picks up the scraps. He's a good kid. I wouldn't trade him for Goodson or Sargent.. Both are better running backs. Good for ISU, we like our little brother.

Serious question.
Who has the best running back in the state of Iowa right now?
Small hint: his name is David Montgomery and he's, by general consensus, one of the top 3 college backs in the nation.

Your theory on "clinging" to dreams and questioning of talent...exploded. Do better.
Dude can't even hit 4.5 yards/carry playing in the b12?
I'm not even convinced he'd be the 3rd best back in the b1g...certainly not the nation LMAO

Iowa cancelled his visit when another RB took the spot. That's when Brock went to ISU to visit. Sorry Clones. We had one RB spot and we filled it and told Brock to look elsewhere. But if it helps you to think you took one from us, go for it. ISU was probably his best offer at this point.

Get your facts straight. He had been to ISU twice or three times before the visit you are talking about.

Still, we told him to move on, as we're we're full at running back, therefore, he no longer had am offer to Iowa.

Good pick up for iowa state. All true college football fans should be happy about the intrigue added to the iowa vs iowa state football game.

Problem is he plays for ISU not a top 3 college team.

Right, Iowa didn't want him but you hosted him on like 6 or 7 visits. Bottom line is the Captain couldn't seal the deal so he moved on to options 2 or 3. Keep telling yourself that what you have is better than JB. Sure seemed like your staff wanted him pretty bad - put in over a years worth of time on him. Campbell simply did what your staff could not - CLOSE.

They like Goodson as an equal, accepted his commitment, didn't have room for Brock. Had Brock committed first, Goodson wouldn't have had an offer. But whatever it takes to make you feel better, with your programs history, I get it.

I assume you're referring to Brock's declination of Iowa's effort to get him to commit a few weeks back...after which Iowa dropped their offer. Right? If so, we are glad to have waited the few extra weeks until he was ready to pick the school he wanted to attend.

You get our sloppy seconds, a recruit Iowa put on the nope list, and you really think he wanted ISU after the fact? When Iowa and others walked away?
So desperate it’s kinda sad

Tyler Goodson, Ezra Miller, Tyler Endres, Jalen Hunt, Jestin Jacobs, and Jack Campbell all say Hi.

So I bet you say Notre Dame and Purdue couldn’t close either, right? Iowa had another option who is just as good and he committed first, plus a JUCO with 3 years left. They got what they wanted, didn’t matter who it was, whoever pulled the trigger first.

Hahaha! It makes picking a school a lot easier when there aren’t as many options. JB was playing the field and that was his choice when Iowa said, We’re sorry we didn’t have all day we went another direction it lit a little fire to that back side and he choose Iowa State.. It happens. I have no doubt someone in Ames said Thank You Iowa back offed!

Is that the same as winning head-to-head games??? Does this concept of closing also work in games? Help me, o wise one!!

I'm much too old for tweeting. But I do have full faith in my sources.

Congrats on your ability to make it to hawkeyereport.com yet lack the ability to read twitter posts. Im sure we shall enjoy and respect your in-depth insights and sources here on our humbled website. Congrats with your success as it relates to old women who are IOWA alumni. May your libido live on longer than your connection to reality, good sir!!

In what world is Montgomery a consensus top 3 running back? He may be top 10-15, but not top 3

Breaking out your rocket surgeon role now? Study up on statistics, my comment is factually accurate. To think you went back to link that as your 'proof' makes me laugh. Great effort. Better luck with your next attempt.
Like I said, you are an interesting person. What is funny, is you probably believe you know what other statisticians think.

I believe that most IOWA fans think that Montgomery is legit. I guess if I have “any questions” it is whether having a good offensive player makes a game altering difference. We all agreed that the Iowa State receiver was the best player on the field in 2017. He played at home. Then we watched the game.

That’s it.

Brock and Hall would be great gets... especially getting both. Neither have signed yet so... we'll see. I still think Brock will be a good player... seems like a lot of RB talent this year. The early recruiting process has changed the game a lot. Brock was forced to make a decision sooner than he hoped. If he continues to improve... same with Hall.... during their senior years... it will be interesting to see if ISU can hold onto them if the big boys come calling. I would guess they'll hang on to one or the other which is still good for ISU.

Iowa fans should be happy. There are multiple threads about playing a higher quality OOC schedule... if ISU keeps improving, then problem solved. Would make the series more interesting anyway.

Consensus=1? Is that what you want us to believe?
Come on! This top 10 running back list was put together by the one and only Paul Myerberg. According to most clone fans he ranks only behind Chris Williams and Randy Peterson with regards to non-biased and credible sports reporting.

LOL...ok chief whatever makes you feel better about your program.
We will agree to disagree on JB. IMO he simply waited too long and Iowa moved on. Time will tell how it works out but I love Goodson and what he will bring to the Hawks. By the way we are still gonna kick your a** up front ....
