Did John send him to train under TnT? He wrestles more of an Iowa style than Ok State, and would look great in the Black and Gold. I think he could finish top 3 right now.

Not sure about TNT but i agree he is likely a top 4 right now. I have it Imart then Nolf and see JoJo and Gantt as a toss up for 3rd. I wouldnt pull his RS though. I would have if Kaid was healthy but not now.

I hate to say it but JoJo is pretty darn fun too watch and very good. But so is Nolf. I cant wait to get our new toy Marinelli in the room, batteries will be already included in that gift!

I'm excited to see how Nolf and JoJo fair against Ian Miller this season. Miller may have a slight edge early on but I think the gas tanks on Nolf and JoJo may be enough to take it to him as the match continues.

I think JoJo takes out Nolf next time they meet.

I agree. If I were John Smith I'd want to hold Jo-Jo back until next year with the goal of him being the second 4X NCAA champ in history named Smith. I'm guessing it was a tough decision between team and personal goals that was made moot by Brock's injury. OSU has some solid, solid guys coming up that are going to make them tough for the next several years. I like the way both Brock and Jo-Jo wrestle.

JoJo did look very good in the match and strength is obviously not a problem which is usually one of the biggest issues with true freshman. However, unless JoJo gets a lot better in the down position Nolf will continue to beat him. He did not look good underneath and if you are gonna beat Nolf you will probably have to fight off the bottom a few times because stopping him from takedowns for the entire match will be difficult. Could JoJo Beat him, Yes but I doubt it will be the next time they meet if that next time is this season. JoJo is a stud for sure though, would love to see another match, maybe I would be wrong...but I think my argument about the down position is valid.

Is there an expectation that Smith or IMar are going 165 next year?

Valid points. He will have to get out to beat him which is easier said than done. They will have a lot of battles in the future. Speaking of going up, Bo looks like he would easily step into 184 as he fills out. Where is Hall projecting?

If hall comes in Next season and does not either Grey Shirt or Red Shirt I would project the Lineup as
125-Suriano
133-Cortez
141- Guilibon
149-Zain
157-V joseph/Nolf
165-Nolf/Vjoseph
174-Hall
184-Bo
197-McCutch/Cassar
Hwt-Nevills (Hopefully Healthy)

Not Bad I think

P.S. Don't know how we don't find room for Rasheed though He is really improving from what I am seeing

How can Nico be back isn't he a senior this year?

This weight is turning out to be pretty darn tough. I think Nolf/Joe Joe/IMAR/Miller will all be a ton of fun to watch. None of these guys hold back. Miller has always been a kind of go for broke guy. His offense is anything but basic but like you mentioned he has always had gas tank issues. I'm going to say Nolf beats him 10-9.

IMar moving to 165 (I don't see it happening) is the only chance Nolf or JoJo have at winning a title at 157. As long as IMar is at 157 then everybody else is competing for 2nd place. It pains me to say that because I HATE Illannoy but I haven't seen anybody that can compete with him.

Per Chance's Twitter he may or may not be quitting....

not a quitter but im done with this sport it no longer needs me and i no longer will suffer from it

WTH? 15 posts and no sign of MikeT. Is he dead?
First off, this black Flag thread has me scared on what to post now. lol Joe a little while ago said he can make 149, I think that ship has sailed. I think Joe is perfect at 157, not a big cut, could add some more muscle and control the mat. Imar is a beast but Nolf will lose to Joe next time they meet. As for on bottom, Nolf road him in the first but Joe escaped quickly in the third. I don't think that will be a problem but is a area where he needs some improving on. Sorry to hear about Chance but he was having a few problem away from wrestling, hope he finishes college and get his life in order. Maybe another school like Iowa could give him a chance, after all you suck at 165. He won't be able to help this season.

Amazing. Easily the most glaring recent example of how not even the bluest of blue-chippers is a lock to succeed at the next level.

Granted, when you recruit blue-chippers, the odds are in your favor, but nobody is a lock.

Tough break for Okie State, as they've landed some other studs recently. If Marsteller had reached his potential there, they'd be a real force to be reckoned with for several years.

Nice try.

Maybe Chance will change his mind. He just posted it 30 minutes ago, so maybe he'll delete and act like nothing happened. If not at Okie St I hope he can find a place to wrestle and finish school. He's an amazing talent at the right weight. But if he's done, he's done. I get it, it's a tough grind every day

People didn't think Perry would ever beat Hendricks either. We could go on with examples all day but the point is wrestling should have taught us by now that Nolf probably has a shot at winning a title in the next three years. Maybe JoJo too once we see more of him and see him beat someone better than Luke Smith.

Where'd you hear this?
It was in one of the articles linked in the marsteller thread (I think). Smith said that rumors of chance quitting the team were untrue, although he has been suspended for the remainder of the season (paraphrasing).

Chance is suspended for the remainder of the season but he is still in the room practicing with the team until his court case is decided which included this morning practice. The suspension was John's call not the AD at this time. When case is concluded AD will step in.
