JoBo outing some pos people today

i have to agree

i keep hearing that the players are tuning out the outside noise; this sounds like the exact opposite.

remember last year when he was complaining on Twitter about what he got in his NCAA Tournament player welcome package? He even did interviews concerning it.
Some people use it as fuel for the fire - I get the feeling JBo is that kind of player. You just have to remember if you give it out some times you have to take it too.

This is the kind of crap that Jbo does that annoys me. Just focus on the games right now. Enough with the social media distractions.

Not to say that he's not completely right that some of these idiots deserve to be called out.

I just want the story to be about how great the team -- including Bohannon -- is playing. Not about how Bohannon is taking down Internet trolls.
Another way to look at it- It's bigger than Iowa basketball. I think athletes should step forward and get some of these trolls fired, or kicked out of school, or reprimanded. It might slow some of this crap down. While I agree it's a small percentage of the overall fanbase, it's getting ridiculous.

Lots of peeps from other teams and areas in country in these too but yes ones from our own "fans" are despicable.

If this turns into a story with a broad audience, I have a distinct feeling that Bohannon will be viewed sympathetically and supported overwhelmingly among not only athletes but also social media users generally. Personally, I'm 100% in favor or exposing those idiots who use media to personally threaten others.

It was much harder back in the day.

Took me 5 hours and 10 phone calls to get Ed Hortons address, then another 20 minutes to write a letter, and another 40 to buy a stamp and mail it.

A number of days later he got his mail and was totally admonished about his lack of focus at the FT line the week before.

I've said this before as well. Just stay off this shit for the next two weeks. For christ's sake.....

Yes, they should.

But the last few times we've played in the NCAA tournament, JBo has spent a lot of time the week of the tourney talking about internet trolls, talking about the NCAA, and talking about NIL. And every time, we've gone home early. Direct correlation? Hard to know.

I'd rather he do his talking on the court.
Exactly. This is one of the reasons I’m not a huge fan of his. He’s basically doing the same thing they are doing to him. Gotta be able to get over it and move on. Not everyone is gonna kiss his behind in the real world.

The truth is that very few people really tune out the outside noise. Even in the day before social media, it's very likely players read what was said about them in the newspaper or on TV. It's about how you handle and process that. Good coaches recognize that their team is probably aware of what is being said about them, and act accordingly. If I'm Fran, my team doesn't need me telling them how great they are this week. The rest of the world is certainly doing that. But Fran doesn't need my advice with this team, he could give a giant middle finger to every nay-sayer this year, and be totally justified doing so.

I guess it's fine if JBo wants to use today to out the idiots. It's not how I would roll, the best revenge is living well. But to each their own.

If they focus and come ready to give great effort on Thursday-Saturday all will be fine.

Now it's relevant. Won't matter as much in April.
I'm sure. I'd just like to think his head is 200% on the game Thursday and not what some piece of shit sends him on social media. This is THE guy who stood at the interview yesterday and said, "were tuning out all the outside noise", "its about us". Yesterday.

This is the only way to hold these dipshits accountable. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away.

This is a great story. 😂

If this helps JBo get motivated, I guess I'm OK with it, although I wish he had some other way.
If you're on the net for any length of time, you are bound to connect to the worst of us. They love trying to bait you into a pissing match but hate it if you ignore them!

There is value in that approach, I think. But IMO one should be proactive when it comes to personal threats or highly offensive language. I would but I don't use Twitter so to each his own; I'm not going to fault JBO for exposing that garbage.

Only when it is called for and no not quite that bad. Great contribution per usual though!
I don’t have a problem with what JBO is doing. I’m more surprised that in this day and age people are stupid enough to send crap like that out with their names attached.
