Josh Ogundele

From my understanding he is a huge project right now. Hopefully get some playing time his Junior/Senior year type of deal.

May need him against Illinois or Michigan, if Garza gets into foul trouble.
I think Fran would play Keegan (after Nunge) at the 5 before going to Josh right now. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a grad transfer big man come in next year because it’ll be a while before Ogundele is ready to go based on the limited minutes we saw from him this year

Was really hoping we would land Robbins but am sure he wanted to play significant minutes right away.

Not sure. I know when he announced he was transferring there was plenty of chatter, not sure if there was anything official.

Wasn’t his uncle or relative on the Minnesota staff? As much as I hate to admit it, Robbins would have been a nice addition.

Maybe.. Hunter Dickinson is a highly skilled 7'2" center. Cockburn is a beast inside. I don't know that Keegan has the bulk/strength to keep them from simply posting up underneath and moving Keegan out of the way. Everyone complains about Nunge's lack of strength but he is stronger and has more experience than Keegan at going up against true centers like Dickinson and Cockburn. I would consider bringing Nunge in early for defensive purposes and to keep Luka out of foul trouble.

Yeah that’s what I said. 1) Garza 2) Nunge 3) Keegan, if for whatever reason we needed a third 5. The post I was responding to was implying that Josh should be in that top 3, and that’s what I disagree with

We can keep Garza out of foul trouble and get a boost defensively and rebound-wise by giving Nunge more minutes in those games. I don't think we'll need a 3rd 5.

That is when Fran brings in Kris and Keegan Murray and they’ll morph into one Super Murray. Fran has had the luxury of not breaking this move out yet.

It kind of sucks that he came in out of shape or his time against Garza in practice would have been more beneficial. I have noticed that he is pretty hype on the bench when we’re hitting big shots, which is great.

That differs completely from what I have heard. They have him on a conditioning and weight loss program right now and he is responding quite well. Shoots the ball real well from about anywhere and knows how to use his big backside down low to create space. He is quite athletic for his size and I think people will be shocked next year if his development continues.

Thank you for the info... encouraging stuff

I believe Acie Earl was redshirted as a freshman and then cam out strong in second year. We can dream!

In limited minutes, he appears pretty fast running the floor and he is obviously a big guy.
Being big and fast is a good starter kit for building a player. That is all I could see in his limited playing time.

When Maryland saw Cockburn get the ball, they doubled him, and he is not nearly as skilled as Luka at passing out of a double. I hope Josh is learning to be a good passer under Luka's guidance.

Josh O has the greatest bench demeanor we've had in years. He appears to be pretty tight with Keegan and Patrick. Needs to turn that baby fat in bone crushing muscle. He moved well for a fat kid in the few minutes he's seen the floor.

Predict Ogu becomes an Ogre, sweeping in rebounds and blasting point blank shots. He takes up a ton of space inside.

We won't win if he is needed in either of those games.....
And I'll guarantee he'll score as MANY points as Foster does the rest of the year :)

Seems highly unlikely we see him on the floor again this year unless at the end of a blowout.
He just wasn't even close to being in the kind of physical shape necessary for b1g ball. Hopefully the rumors cited are true and he's dropping some weight overall and gaining muscle mass. For him this year is essentially a freebie to get ready for next season.
