Joshua Lewis announces Thursday

I hope he doesn’t choose Iowa if it means there’s a chance Fran could be back next year.
Oddly enough there is some truth to that statement….I am hopeful he finds his way to Butler. Maybe a basketball operations guy?

Hawks and Fran looked pretty good to reel in this big fish -- until the last 3 games did something like this to the season .....

Competition looks pretty stiff. I know Eliot likes our chances but that looks like a pretty tough group of teams we're up against

I see Dan's point and its the same point many of us here have made. Fran used to get HOT at the Barn and the fans (and some officials... lil Larry) would egg him on. It was great to witness live. Now Fran looks like he's checked out. Zero fire. Previous years if his players were being held like he claimed after the game he would rip into an official and usually get a T. I was usually all for it to get the refs attention. Now he does nothing.

Probably doesn’t want to hurt chances in future career path

Of the contending schools, I would say that we are coming in last, or maybe next to last given NC St's mediocre record. We just can't afford losing streaks like the one we're in, where we are not even very competitive and still expect highly rated recruits to want to wear the black and gold. Personally, I've stated previously that I believe McCaffery will resign at the end of the year and that certainly won't help our chances. I'm going to predict Auburn, having no knowledge of the kid whatsoever. He's from Tampa. Maybe he wants to stay in the South. But certainly not an Iowa program which appears to be having their worse year since the 2017-18 debacle with that very young squad.

If Fran leaves this kid could just portal on down to another program. If Fran stays he could use his first year to showcase his talent to other schools.

Until Fran leaves we are essentially the Kansas City Royals, where our best young talent is likely playing for the Yankees pretty soon.

Thought I had read a couple years ago that he was put on a pretty tight leash related to blowups on the court with officials to the point his job was at risk. His demeanor now may be more related to that than checked out.

Put on a leash by who?

That's what I'm talking about! Spurlock getting the job done - big time!

Our NIL financial position must have really stepped up this year. I'm all for buidlding relationships and traditional recruiting but we're getting some highly rated guys all of a sudden.

Welcome aboard Joshua!

Woohoo!
#68 overall composite rating makes Josh one of Frans best recruits along with Woody and Tyler cook.

Briscoe- rebounder defender at 4
Agui- 3/4 strong defender
Bakitide- athletic 5
Lewis- athletic 2- way small forward.

Good looking class to address rebounding/ defensive holes.

Now, get drew back for another year and retain the rest and maybe add another guard and we are ready to rock!

Welcome Josh Lewis!!

I've seen him ranked as high as 37.

This complicates things.
No it doesn’t.

He’s a really good recruit, but one good player doesn’t turn an entire program around. But a great coach can turn a program around.

You give up this kid 10 times out of 10 if you have a chance of landing a coach like Devries

He was committed to UCF?
Looks like a solid player.
Were the other offers still in place?
You never know which offers are committable offers. Guessing game, but I usually watch where players take official visits. I am not saying he is not a great player. He was committed, so other schools may have filled up or had someone higher ranked than that player.
