It's not a signing...yet.Terrible post.
I am extremely happy with this signing! This is a great get!
That Curtisj guy might need to get some new material
Agreed.Possible roster:
Thelwell
Harding
Dix
Pryce
Koch
Lewis
Dembele
Tadjo
Johnson-Agui
Briscoe
Freeman
Bakidite
With Shabazz committed for 2026
Lot more raw talent than average Fran roster.
The same could had been said about Bluder before CC arrived.Regardless of talent (or the potential of incoming recruits).... this is the same guy that can't coach defense, rebounding and gets "lost in the game" by weird sub patterns and lack of timely TOs. He gets bounced early in the tournament. And even if the team has players capable of a deep run he blows it to the likes of Richmond because his style of play isn't a recipe for NCAA tourney success.
This is Fran ball and the ceiling has already been reached. We have seen the same script for 15 years and he needed to be replaced yesterday. These recruits will not make a difference
I'm on board with keeping Fran.......if Cooper Flagg transfers in next year. Anything short of that it's time to take his Charmin- soft brand of basketball and make like Michael Jackson.I'm coming around to the idea of keeping Fran.
Yes, I butchered those names:Those aren't their names
Bluder had a Big10 title and 2nd place Big10 conference finish before CC. I'd take a conference regular season title in men's basketball over a Sweet16 given our last B1G title is 1979. Fran did have Garza, two Murrays, and Weezy on a single team and that seems almost like having a CC.The same could had been said about Bluder before CC arrived.
I guess this just proves no one on this boards really knows or understands anything, huh?Of the contending schools, I would say that we are coming in last, or maybe next to last given NC St's mediocre record. We just can't afford losing streaks like the one we're in, where we are not even very competitive and still expect highly rated recruits to want to wear the black and gold. Personally, I've stated previously that I believe McCaffery will resign at the end of the year and that certainly won't help our chances. I'm going to predict Auburn, having no knowledge of the kid whatsoever. He's from Tampa. Maybe he wants to stay in the South. But certainly not an Iowa program which appears to be having their worse year since the 2017-18 debacle with that very young squad.
True…poor choice of words on my part. He’ll likely sign though. But not guaranteed of course. It's not a signing...yet.
Depends. NIL is the unknown factor.I’d doubt I’m the only one who feels this way, but if he actually has the offers he claims, this makes zero sense
The Lester EffectI’d doubt I’m the only one who feels this way, but if he actually has the offers he claims, this makes zero sense
Why do you think he has 1 foot out the door? The most Iowa thing ever. Get our 2nd highest ranked recruit ever with the head coach having one foot out the door.
Maybe he wanted to go someplace where he wouldn't have to play defense.I’d doubt I’m the only one who feels this way, but if he actually has the offers he claims, this makes zero sense

Why do people keep saying we could get Thelwell back?Agreed.
Thelwell back would be huge.
Have to laugh at Johnson-Agui and Bakidite
Not sure. Why do people keep saying we could get Thelwell back?
He’s currently playing his Covid year. How is he going to get a 6th year of eligibility?
His fanbase is rightfully ready for a change, his effort and demeanor on the sideline suggest a significant lack of interest, and his kids are/will be in Indiana. Why do you think he has 1 foot out the door?
He also had offers from Auburn, Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois and Marquette. But don’t let that get in the way of your idiotic take.
Because he has petitioned for it...Why do people keep saying we could get Thelwell back?

We’ve discussed this here before, but I believe his appeal would have to be based on the following interpretation of the rules:Is that inside info? I can’t find any info about that online
Idk how he would get another year. He had played full seasons every year except his freshman, but even then he played in 16 games. I thought 10 games was about the max to get a medical redshirt
That is being posterized.
Fox for Minny is in his 8th year, somehow. He must be older than half of the players in the NBA.We’ve discussed this here before, but I believe his appeal would have to be based on the following interpretation of the rules:
1. Thelwell’s first year at Morehead St didn’t count because of covid
2. With the first year not counting, Thelwell could make the case that he graduated from Morehead St in the three year timeframe that did count
3. In the past, the NCAA has granted two extra years of eligibility to grad transfers who got their degree in three years.
The only basis for the appeal I could think of is that the NCAA is considering granting 5 years of eligibility to all athletes, but as far as I know, that’s just a proposal at this point.
Less than that if Fran isn't coming back.I give it a 7% chance he actually ever plays a game at Iowa.
