Juan Harris-Decommits yet again

Well he was the dude that listed his top 3 last year as Alabama, Oregon, and Ohio State and none of them had even offered him.

Seriously??

Nut job, egomaniac, immature. Nice package. Let's all chip in and buy him a bucket of C'ya.

I assume Coy Kirkpatrick is gonna be a DT as well as Lattimore, Add Schulte and even McKnight a nd this a non-issue anyways. Coach Morgan, Doyle, and Coach Parker won't lose any sleep. All is well. Next!!

This. He's not worth it. I understand teenage kids change their minds a lot, but this has gotten ridiculous. Even if he came to Iowa, he has "Transfer" written all over him.
He's not coming to Iowa and he won't be going to any blue blood like some think. His best shot is Illinois or Iowa State if he is lucky and even if he makes it on campus at wherever he decides I highly doubt he will last. I for one am glad he decommitted and I look forward to the staff adding a better commitment.

Even if he turns out to be the best DT in the country we do not need this drama queen. His presence has future team mutiny written all over it.

Give the sholly to an Iowa kid that has always dreamed of walking out of the tunnel at Kinnick and not somebody who is going to take it for granted. Best of luck to Juan but I think this story is over for him and Iowa.

At this point, I would much rather see Iowa give Juan's scholly to a corn fed, white 8 man football farm boy from Nebraska then to let Juan re commit again. Juan\s word means nothing, he has proven that he lacks character and I would not be surprised if he commits elsewhere and de commits again. In fact, I will predict that he will be discontent where ever he signs and ends up transferring out before his freshman year is up. Good riddance to him. He is not worth the drama.

I think that ship has passed. I have a feeling his camping at Illinois was the last straw.

Adios Juan, you have 8 months to change your mind at least two or three more times.

Lovie is used to dealing with prima donnas. They should be a good fit. He doesn't seem to be the kind of gut that would do well in Doyles weight room.

If he still wants to be a Hawkeye and changes his mind again, he would work out well as a manager. Could use him in the Toolbox game.

Damion Daniels come on down!

It's easy to point the finger at only Juan, just remember it took two for this dance to take place. (Commit/ Decommit/ Commit/ Decommit/ Commit/ Decommit) After the second Decommit the Iowa staff should of stopped the music.

Are we surprised this happened? There were quite a few on the board that thought this could/would happen again. Hopefully the offer is pulled for good at this point.

Truthfully Iowa is probably the worst program for him. He doesn't seem like a kid that likes to work extremely hard. He's going to have a lot of work to do to get into playing shape and get his weight down. Look how long it took Carl Davis to become what many wanted him to be year 1 or year 2 at Iowa. I just don't see this as a big loss. I was expecting a transfer after year 1.

I have a buddy who coaches against him in high school. Said the kid has the "physical" tools to be one of the best. But he said he only goes if HE wants to. I realize that is like most kids, but he said when they played against him, he took several plays off and just kind of stood there at times. If the play was away from him, he would jog after the runner. He said their little 6-2 250lb linemen was able to handle him at times during the game (mainly in the 3rd & 4th quarter). Said his conditioning is lacking.

I just kind of wonder if it is true that he was talking negative towards other recruits and his troubles in the classroom, makes me wonder if old kirk just told him to move on. IDK, but I hope he can sit down and make a final decision.

I also think this is the problem with kids committing so dang early.

I'd take that bet. I bet once he gets in a program with structure he could succeed but he's got some growing up to do

I'll give him all that credit if that happens. He definitely has to grow up A LOT and mature A LOT to do that. For his sake, I hope he does.

So, if he goes to Michigan or Illinois, he won't have to work hard. Only at Iowa? Lol. Harbaugh and Lovie are big time. He would have to work just as hard at those places.

Not sure he is worth the trouble, though.

Three strikes and you're out. I wanted to give the kid a chance - even after the second de-commitment. Now, I just see a kid who simply doesn't know what he wants and his actions thus far make you wonder if he will ever even see the field in college.

I can appreciate he's a "kid." But's he's not 10. There's a point in life where you need to take ownership of your decisions. AND, if you aren't ready to commit to something (i.e. anything) then don't commit.

Think a big part of it is his conditioning. He is just too big. Also not that strong for his size. The conditioning and getting in shape can be done but the attitude thing is the biggest red flag. If he is already causing issues with potential teammates that is bad. That is the kind of kid that could be a really negative influence in a locker room.

I don't think that is a good bet to take. Too many red flags. Lack of commitment, character issues, reading his tweets I would imagine academics could be a problem.

He's going to go to a D1 school. Any kid that goes to a D1 school I'd be on them playing a snap of football there regardless of their situation. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what a kid like him needs too. He may never play D1 but I'd bet on him doing it

Well, that's the thing. I would bet him going to D1 school is not a guarantee. Like I said. Academics might be an issue. And maybe you aren't aware but he has had lots of changes of scenery. Started out in Illinois a few years ago, then went to Wisconsin, now to Iowa.

Huh??? Structure is probably Iowa's best selling point. He won't find many programs that offer more structure.

If this is true, I don't know how I feel about this. I really don't care for the kids decision making ability but Michigan? Again? I am tired of Harbaugh coming in after recruits.
I think he has had a Michigan offer for quite some time, so I don't think they are the reason. I personally thinks he was missing the spotlight that you have when your not committed. I do remember after his last decommit, he touted his top three as being like, Alabama, Oregon and tOSU, none of which had offered him, so maybe Iowa is not a BIG enough player for him in his mind. He just wanted that scholly locked up. Now after being told at camps that he is better then some of the 4* recruits, he thinks his ship has arrived. He could be waiting for that big school payday. If he does go to Illinois, then I think they have convinced him that he will play right away, something that he would not get to do at Iowa. Either way, I see him de committing, then transferring out of the school he commits to, enrolling at Northern Iowa just to drop out of school and end up as a stock boy at Dollar General. :) Well, at least until decommitting and going to the night stock crew at Walmart..........Seriously though, wherever he goes, he has some serious character issues, and will have to go above and beyond to convince coaches and his teammates that he can be counted on. Cuz right now, his name means zilch.

The round and round of this is comical.

If he eventually comes to Iowa, fine. If he eventually goes elsewhere, fine.

I won't lose any sleep over it either way.

Just my guess and opinion but I can see him going to a D1 school and red shirting his freshman year and leave and end up in JUCO and never heard from again after that.
