Looking at this 16U roster, it's loaded. Already multiple kids in the rankings with Ross, Pearson, Pierce, and Koester. Expect to see DeSalvo, Schwab, Crosson, Landers, Youngblut, Riggins, Fellers, Knaack, Miller, Collins-Hendricks, Brayden Koester, and Martinson in the rankings before their HS careers are over.

The future looks bright for Iowa high-school wrestling.

In short, no one near as elite as Ross but a lot of solid to good guys. Very typical Iowa.

He has 2 more years of high school to get to 125. Add on a potential redshirt year and he will get there pretty easy I think. He is a great athlete at everything he does. Great kid.

Youngblut was also wrestling up an age group in addition to a weight class. Now that is impressive.
 
14U national Duals just wrapped up. Iowa took 6th in Greco and 7th in Freestyle. Team was pretty solid. They didn’t have a HWT so down 5-0 in every dual. In Freestyle they lost their 83lber and 106lber got hurt the last couple duals. The names that stood out to me were Schwab(Doug Schwab’s son), Prine, Porter(Gable Porters little brother) and Constable.

They got 5th in Greco. No hwt the entire time, no 83 lb for fs, and lost their 106 guy halfway thru fs (he went undefeated in Greco). Also, didn't have a 136 pounder so they had a guy move up and wrestle up all weekend. Overall was a pretty young, experienced group with 5-6 horses but a pretty good showing

Thanks for the corrections. I just watched a little here and there when the 16U were not wrestling. That 106 pounder-Prine looked tough.

Prine had a very good weekend. Went undefeated in Greco and was undefeated in fs until his last match of Saturday night and lost a match on a last second score that was challenged. Ended up hurting his knee at the end of the match and tried going Sunday and defaulted about 20 seconds into his first match.

Hendrix Schwab and Weston porter went 18-0 and parker casey went 17-1.
