Boy, the shine sure has faded from Howard's star over the last couple years. His seat has to be pretty hot.
Bullshit. Howard was 100% out of line that day…..not on Gard any all. Wisconsin has played “hands on” defense for many years and done so successfully. But they don’t hold a candle to Sparty. Illinois, Purdue offthe top of my head play similarly.Gard deserved a good slap. He teaches dirty play. **** that guy.
AD afraid to fire him?Michigan blew a sizable lead at home today to Rutgers, and lost in lackluster fashion; At the end they had no fire in them, and basically seemed to be playing out the last 2 minutes, waiting for the final buzzer.
Michigan is 7-15 overall, and 2-9 in conference play.
Howard might punch someone else if this continues.
It's not just "hands on" play. They intentionally try to undercut opposing players where they could get hurt. Gard teaches dirty play and you won't convince me otherwise.Bullshit. He knows it, too. That's why he brought in Phil Martelli. He has always done more of the in game coaching.Howard is not a very good coach, probably the weakest in the big ten.
I am couldn’t disagree more. The Big Ten does not need Michigan or Indiana or Michigan State or anyone else to be good. It just needs someone to be good. The TV networks like it when the traditional powers are good because it’s easier for them to cover it. They don’t have to work as hard to draw in viewers.AD afraid to fire him?
I actually like Howard, he does need or hopefully has been getting help to address anger issues
I am no Michigan fan but the conference needs storied programs like UM to be good
I don’t buy that for one minute…there was the Davisson guy who was super aggressive and was everyone in the B10 favorite player to hate… but dirty? Nah..but the Davison kid was stone cold for sure. It's not just "hands on" play. They intentionally try to undercut opposing players where they could get hurt. JuWuan will be JuGone if his team doesn't perform better. Even if his buyout is high, UM will pay to replace him & rightfully so.Howard is not a very good coach, probably the weakest in the big ten.
I think what he did to Gard was awful. I had seen him interviewed prior many times and always thought he seemed like a decent dude. He should be fired, for being a crappy coach, and his on court behavior does not help his cause.I am couldn’t disagree more. And screw Howard. If he was anyone else he would have been fired for striking a coach from another team. If that was Fran, he would have his walking papers before the team got to the end of the handshake line.
They are slick about it and use their lower body to undercut players often. I saw them do it yesterday against Purdue.I don’t buy that for one minute…there was the Davisson guy who was super aggressive and was everyone in the B10 favorite player to hate… but dirty? Nah..but the Davison kid was stone cold for sure.

Late in that game a Wisc player got hit in the face by a Purdue elbow, so they went to the monitor. They are slick about it and use their lower body to undercut players often. I saw them do it yesterday against Purdue.
Davisson was a dirty player.
Exactly. That’s the cheap shit they pull often, essentially if they are losing.Late in that game a Wisc player got hit in the face by a Purdue elbow, so they went to the monitor.
As they showed the replays it looked like the Wisc player was grabbing him from behind and dove into the guys elbow. Seriously, the Purdue player did not swing his arm at all. Ended up a common foul.
I may be way off here, but it looked a little odd.
