Kaleb Johnson, postgame. Last game at Kinnick. Last game as a Hawkeye

What is truly amazing is that so many of his run attempts had no chance. Brick wall. UCLA, Nebraska, OSU - so many carries with no hope of gaining yards and he still averaged 6.4 yds per carry? Amazing.
You nailed it. KJ had to do almost everything the hard way. That average, given the nine-man boxes he was ordered to run into over and over and over and over is absolutely incredible. Imagine his numbers if Iowa had a passing game the other team had to respect . . . even just a little. I'm pretty sure KJ did more with less than any other running back in the country. It's just a horrible shame his team and his coaches couldn't have helped him out more than they did.

Anyway, moving on is the only way to go. KJ gave Iowa all he had. Now it's his time. The bowl game is a preseason game for 2025. The top two or three QBs should play, and the returning RBs will get plenty of opportunities to audition . . . hopefully with a passing game of some sort to help them out. Meanwhile, I join everyone in wishing KJ good health and a long, successful NFL career.
