Kamala and Trump TV ads

The contrast is pretty interesting. Kamala’s ads are mostly positive about building the middle class and tax relief for working people. Trump is running attack ads about Kamala using tax money for prisoner sex changes, criminals she has pardoned who later murdered, and of course illegal immigrants.

So, positivity vs. fear porn. Which one do you think is more effective? Frankly, I think Democrats are making a mistake not running fear porn about Trump. With that said, she is really pounding economic insecurity and trying to make the case she is for working people and Trump is for rich people.

Anyway, which strategy is going to be more effective? I’m not asking your opinion of either candidate or the veracity of any of their claims. Which strategy is going to one) sway undecideds and two) help boost voter turnout for his or her side?
Deb Fischer has been running ads touting Trumps endorsement and Osborn is liberal. Osborn has been attacking Fischer's and ties to special interest. Osborn has jumped to a 5 point lead.

I just saw that one too.

I understand going after Kamala for prisoner sex changes, but piling on trans people with a “they/them” pot shot is tacky and irresponsible.
Trump isn’t getting their votes anyway. I don’t consider this an attack ad, so much as he’s exposing who Harris really is since she avoids all hard hitting media.

Pointing out your opponent’s stances and record isn’t an attack. It’s not trivial to highlight her positions that many Americans aren’t for like taxing unrealized gains for instance.

I live in the Philly TV market, and if all I watched were GOP ads I would think Harris is going to escort millions of transgender Mexicans into my town to rape our women, molest our children, and takeover HS girls’ sports.
If that actually was the case, what would she do differently than she's proposed?

Not that I don't believe you but who exactly did Kamala pardon considering she's never held an office where she held pardon power.

Sorry it was more of a question. Not well done by me. Kamala middle class bull shit is just that. Trumps stuff is a 1999 rap video production feel. Both suck.
Yes, Kamala is a California liberal trying to present herself as a moderate. It’s not going to persuade anyone.

I believe Trump is doing exactly what he should be doing with attack ads against Kamala. I think it will be very effective. Once Kamala runs her hit pieces, though, I think it will really galvanize progressives and left-leaning moderates.

It’s going to be an interesting race to the finish.

I’m just going off the content of the attack ads. I’m not fact checking anything. It’s not really relevant to the efficacy of the ads. According to one attack ad I have seen from the Harris campaign, she is trying to make the case she is going to cut taxes for the middle class while Trump is going to tax groceries, gas, etc.

Being in a purple area in WI, the ads are absolutely nonstop during games. I'm even well versed in a house race that isn't my district lol.
I also get anywhere from 2-6 political flyers in the mail daily. One thing I find interesting- my state rep is 100% MAGA. With the WI map now somewhat un-gerrymandered, he must have a competitive race because his flyers now proclaim that he's bi-partisan & works across the aisle. Amazing what happens to political positions when the job actually is endangered.
Is Wausau near Eau Claire or LaCrosse? It isn't just during games, it's ALL THE FREEKING time! Hovde, Baldwin, Cooke, Kamala, Trump. It's horrible. It also reminds me what it was like when Iowa was purple.

In Iowa, Marianne M-M's ads are actually making me like her less. Whining about grocery costs - she won't vote for anything that would lower said costs, and then cheering on girls at soccer game scaring us about transgenders taking over. Lying bigot. Again, Republicans are MASTERS at coming up with boogeymen that gets their base afraid and riled up. Easily manipulated simpletons.

They talked about this on Pod Save America. From their perspective (as former Obama campaigners), she needed to spend the first two months getting her approval as high as possible before doing too many anti-Trump ads because you need the viewers to trust you before you go there.

They think the attack ads will ramp up a lot between now and then. I guess we’ll see.

I’ve seen several negative ads from her campaign as well. Mostly about him “being rich”.
I can’t figure out what demographic she’s hoping to sway with those?

Here's my undecided...put on pants to go vote for Harris or just stay home. There's isn't a force on planet earth that would get me to cast a vote for Donald Trump. I'm in Texas, so would it even matter?

EDIT: I do have to put on pants to vote Cruz out, so maybe I'll multi-task.
Well you tell ‘em Igloo. Why don’t you just stay home?

What legislation will lower grocery costs?
Ask her. She's the one saying we need to bring down those costs in her stupid ad in a grocery score, blaming the insane liberals in Washington for raising them.

Republicans are rarely for lowering the costs of ANYTHING, all the while crying about rising costs. Again, they are full of crap.

In 2017 Trump gave North Carolina less than 1% of the Federal assistance they requested after hurricane Matthew. I'd be reminding them of that every 5 minutes.

Manipulated simpleton you say?
Hmm. 🤔

Interesting. What’s the rest of the story?

Yes, one like yourself who voted for a grifting, lying, conman rapist...twice. One who continues to defend him when attacked on this board. Thank you for chiming in and giving us an example of precisely the type I was talking about.

Agree that there isn't a significant number of "undecideds".

Dems have excelled at promoting early/absentee.

With the fundraising heavily in favor of Harris, I expect a 30 day blitz.
That can't be in Penna, we already have 24-7 political ads, Ya can forget trying to watch the news, its all ads.

There were two towns in Washington state that lost 90% of the homes, in 2020, due to wildfires. People in Trump's former admin have admitted that he looked up those counties, saw they didn't vote for him, and never declared the county an emergency. They had to wait until Biden got into office before they got the financial help they needed. Trump is not fit to be making these kinds of decisions. He's a vindictive, thin skinned little brat.

We don’t see as many but I think they’re focused on swing states like PA.

Yeah, they’re pretty lame. I’ve seen those too.

She is obviously trying to create an image of being one of the “plain everyday folks” while portraying Trump as a rich elitist. I don’t think it’s a very effective ad. No one besides MAGA rednecks think Trump is “of and for the people,” so it’s not going to move the needle with anyone truly undecided or debating whether or not to go vote.

Haven't seen a single Trump or Harris ad here in Iowa. I guess our state has become as red as a clown's nose.
Same in Indiana, although I do sense a kind of undercurrent developing. What was once considered a shoe-in for the governor's race here is nearly in the toss-up range now. Senator Mike Braun is the GOP candidate who is running against a former republican woman who won the state's Head of Public Education race here 8 years ago. I think she has a fair amount of momentum now.

On the presidential election, I keep thinking and hoping that plain old Trump fatigue is going to set in and the sun will rise brightly on November 6th.
