I'll admit when I'm wrong, I didn't think KM would make the final cut. Congrats Kate
The pro's (all sports) is all about entertainment and celebrity. KM's a great player, but it also doesn't hurt that she's famous for being CC's #2.

I like these but as an aside, I don't get why people are into Kiah Stokes. Yes her dad played for the hawks but she turned down playing for the Hawks. Kate was doing an interview when the Bluder retirement news dropped. Interviewer hit her with it cold, she looked stunned, but held it together. Handled it like a pro, which she is.

They call everything Las Vegas around here
Funny thing is even their training facilities are in Henderson and the stadium they play in are not located in any city.
The city of Las Vegas has a fairly small operating budget, the county covers basically everything. Vegas does not even have its own police force.
Not unusual in sports…the New York Giants are not the even located in the state of New York.
Also I was wrong in my post it is taxpayer money designed for this type of use

I like to see people from the state of Iowa succeed.
I moved to Iowa 35 years ago and never saw him play. I get people have fond memories of him but I don’t, and kiah turned us down. Not hating on her, I just don’t care.
I think they'll try it for a while mainly for the heck of it, but my guess is they'll rely on their vets to beat her up.
Kate won't play that style of defense (at least not yet) on Clark, and she's not near the defenders that a Nika Muhl or Raven Johnson were, and I absolutely loved watching Kate play.
I think it's safe to say Kate just played her way into the rotation. I believe she was on the court for the entire Aces 17-1 run.
When Bird, Taurasi, and Stewart raved about her in the UConn game, somebody was listening. So happy for her.

She was getting over screens very well and played great defensively. Early on when she fed Wilson with a pass right where she wanted it & set her up perfectly to make a move was one of the little things she does so well. The clip below is the huddle after that play. Wilson with the acknowledgement.

First Kate Martin in the W highlight comp incoming…
Great for Kate that she was able to look great in her debut. She's worked really hard to get to this point, so seeing it payoff, especially when she's working with Gustafson, is amazing.
She just does a little bit of everything. That’s a great player to have on your team!
