Kate Middleton, if you have time to waste today.

Could have been endometriosis or uterine fibroids as well. Pretty common in women her age. Both form tumors that can be cancerous.

My better half had a grapefruit sized fibroid removed in a surpisingly compicated surgery that was initially thought as routine. Pre-op ultrasound can only do so much. They halted under anesthesia until a specialized team became involved. The lead surgeon was so amazed he took pictures of it and retired shortly after. Massive amounts of blood loss since the tumor had attached capillary vessels to anything and everything surrounding it. We called it our squid baby.

She barely made it out successfully, but a decade later, we're both enjoying drinks on the porch as I type this without her even knowing I'm telling her story.
Yup, it sure could. My friend had endometriosis and her ca125 levels were off scale. Thankfully, no malignancy, just inflammation. Good to hear about the eventual great outcome.

I hope you're doing well! My guess was cervical cancer given the treatment modality and her age.
Aside from the annual CT scans, next one in a week and a half, and being “lopsided”, everything’s good.

Honestly, if not for the whole testosterone thing, it would actually be nice to have the other one removed. No more worrying about getting hit in the ball(s) would be pretty nice. The stress level when that happens is higher now because there’s always the worry that I don’t have redundancy anymore and one bad move means I’m on TRT for the rest of my life. Don’t ask me about my experiences coaching baseball and softball, without a cup on, for my young kids over the past few years. There’s been one or two close calls that had me worried.

Hang in there and continue to be well. I'm sorry you had these experiences but I'm glad you made it. We, scientists and clinicians, need to do better with complex cancers. If you're ever in the Iowa City area, I can give you the nickel tour of my lab and how far we've come in developing new therapies.

She looks worn out in the video. The stress and start of chemo will do that though.
Plus they said this morning that she chose to do the video wearing zero makeup because she felt bad about her editing that photo of her with her children.
I really like her and I’m sincerely hoping she’s able to recover. Her family needs her.

My DIL works for a large oncological group as their Director of Hospice and Palliative Care. She said one of the notable advances is the ability to extend the years for those with metastatic disease. With a decent quality of life. I think most of us have seen the ads for those treatments which initially began for breast cancer but they’ve proven helpful for more types of cancers as well.

I also have a friend who is affiliated with a company that’s had significant success with gene and immunotherapy therapies.
Boomers are a huge pool of people who are living longer but with that comes a larger number who will develop diseases as their years advance. Any new treatments are welcome.
