Keegan 80 percent from 3

8-10, or 80%, is better than NBA Jam "He's on Fire!!".

But the absolute best one of the day was the pump-fake to get TJD to leap past him, and TJD lands pretty much right next to him, but he still rises, fires and drills it with a TJD hand in his face.

Absolute nails. And that's one of the MANY reasons he got shafted on not being named the B1G PotY.

I've gone from thinking he can have a nice NBA career to thinking he will be one of the top 2 or 3 players on his team a couple years from now. And he has the skills and versatility to be successful playing with pretty much anyone in any system.
Really the outside shot is/was the missing piece from his game. There is no way for college players to guard him if he shoots it well. Indiana had really good size, which limited his scoring in the lane. So he just goes outside and drops 8 3's. My goodness, what a player.

I will be interested to see what his NBA career turns out to be. Not unreasonable to think he would be one of the best 2-3 players on a NBA team.

Keegan is the best player in the league, and it's not even really close.

Unreal. 8 out of ten in three pointers. Ever happened before? Ever heard of anything like it?
He really showed today just how versatile a scorer he can be, if it wasn't evident already.

Indiana was doing everything they could to keep Keegan from even having any freedom to move inside the 3 pt line, so Keegan was like fine then, I'll be you out here.

They had nobody that could guard him when he extends like that. They had to switch early because none of their bigs could afford to extend and guard him at the 3 pt line and the other guys they put on him basically had to have two hands on his jersey everywhere he went just to keep up with him..........

I will say that I'd like to see Kris post up more depending on the matchups, when Keegan gets it out top, whether off a screen or just a simple rotation.

Maybe they do go hi-low/inside-out with Keegan out and Kris inside more than occasionally and I just need to go back and watch more. But I feel like that could be a way for Iowa to get the ball inside when teams are throwing the kitchen sink at keeping Keegan and Rebraca from getting post touches.

Just thinking the other day, I've been watching Iowa basketball since whenever they started televising it back in the 50s and I cannot remember ever getting as much pure joy from watching a player as I have this season from Keegan. It just blows me away what the guy does and mostly how he does it. So smooth and seemingly effortless. He's taking an easy jog down the court and then you realize he's outsprinting everybody. Kris is a lot the same if not at the same level. They just kinda glide around.

And humble. They don't make them like him very often.

He gone.

Then every time he is interviewed, he says he wants to bring Iowa basketball back... So is he talkin this year?

I was about 75% in a gym by myself once.

Did TJD score from beyond 5 feet? He had plenty of dunks and layups while Keegan was firing 8 of 10 from three-point range. There's little comparison between Keegan and ANY other player in the BIG or the nation. After being snubbed by his own conference, it wouldn't shock me if Keegan were named the National Player of the Year--because he is.

Got 1,000 career points when he got his 26th pt today. Unreal to do it in 2 years especially considering his min last year. Reggie evans other guy I could think of who did it only playing 2 years at Iowa.

Or excited, or happy, or bummed, or stoked, or flustered or overjoyed or sad. He just exists in his opponent’s nightmares
Its crazy how so even-keeled he is on the court, no matter the game situation. I admire the hell out of that.

An approximation of what would've been Keegan's on court reaction, if hadn't been crashing the glass as JBo's shot went in,

There 4 others I can think of besides Keegan to score 1,000 in two years.
@Suterman & @perryhawk , who am I missing?

And note below the games played and ppg.

Iowa has had some scorers, man!

Sam Williams...1,176 (2 yrs: 1967-1968, 49 GP, .466 FG%, 24 ppg)
