Keegan is tough as nails

Other than Garza, he may have more mental toughness than anyone else on the team. His two made free throws at the end were soooo critical!

Weezy and Toussaint really struggled today.
KM is a tough young man, but we have several with incredible mental toughness. JBo has some stones. And CJ and CMac are battlers, too.

Keegan’s natural position is SG/SF. I don’t know how much more lbs he will put on, but don’t want it to mess with his shot.

Damn, why did I have to come in with my comment after Kenyon showed up, lol. The reactions have to feel great now compared to some people's initial reactions. Keegan is smart and has great energy. It has been awesome to watch.

Keegan’s playing style reminds of me Baer. Hustler and gritty do it all mentality and that’s exactly what that defense needs. He’s still so young his ceiling seems pretty high.

Jamari Sibley had 7 points for Georgetown last night in a loss to Marquette. He hasn't played much, but Sibley is a 4 star recruit who Fran was after but stopped after getting the Murray twins because he thought they were better than Sibley.

Except NB was a scrapper, hustler kind of guy. KM is a smooth silky athlete, I'd say they're more different then alike, except they both do so many little things that don't show up in the stats. Remember also KM is a freshman and Baer reshirted and didn't play that much until his 3rd season at Iowa.

Kenyon, would 10 lbs really have that big an effect on his shot? If that is really the case don't do it but some more good weight would do wonders for him taking the ball to the hoop, IMHO.

Keegan and all other freshmen are getting a huge break on their intro to BIG play, due to Covid. They are not facing the hostile crowds on the road. Impossible to say if Keegan would be rattled much.

Very true. He doesn't ever seen to have that "deer in the headlights" look though. I actually think some of our upperclassmen welcome those hostile road environments, not that our road record would reflect that. Ha!

Except incidentally, players are affected more by the pressures of the game than by the crowd.

Oh come on! Let's get both kids uo to 250! We can hire Gene Keady to put them through the Steve Scheffler program.

😉

Really love his game face. Calm, cool and composed. And then he follows that with grit and relentless determination. Just the kind of demeanor I want to see in a player. Let's his play speak for itself.

Have to pile on a little here. This kid continually impresses. Don’t have much to add to all of the superlatives above but wanted to get in on the fun. Just an extremely effective young player who seems to be mature well beyond his years.

His 2 clutch made free throws at the end typified his play in general. Calm, determined, and let them fly without hesitation. Then gave himself a little slap after making the second in an understated way, like a quiet assassin.

Special player and an impressive young man. Really glad he and his bro are Hawks! Kenyon, you should be extremely proud, and of course you are.

Keegan is incredible. He gets rebounds, loose balls, putbacks that leaves me shaking my head, how did he get that. Great composure. I'd like to see Keegan playing a consistent 30 minutes per game as long as he can stay out of foul trouble. I wish we'd seen more of Kris this season because he probably can play similar defense/smart play.

All the while without hardly breaking a sweat or losing his composure....just an amazing player

He has such a calm demeanor and personality, yet is so active and physical. He rarely, almost never, makes a mental mistake. Quite a special player who has obviously improved his game X100 in two years as you really never heard about him in H.S. So glad he and Kris are Hawkeyes.
